The five elements boxing comes form the Wu Ji.. What is called the Wu Ji is pre-natal, and is without idea and body. It's origin is harmony, and the primary source of Tai Ji, Yin-Yang, and Dong Jing. Everything is born in a state of the bakc being to Yin, and the front facing Yang. Everything is Tai Ji. From Wu Ji, shifts out Tai Ji. Where the primordial Chi(Qi) of human being comes from, the spirit of human being derives from. It is also the source of Wu Xing boxing, which keeps in realtion with the former and thus makes change. It is this changing power that keeps the spirit calm, and makes a balance between Yin and Yang in the human body.
This energy invigorates channels, promotes blood circulation, and lengthens the life span. This is the way to change from a post-natal back to a pre-natal state and realize good health.
Before the body moves, the intention of motion is generated already. Although no trace of Chi is shown yet, the intention of motion already exists in the interior. This is the one Chi of Tai Ji.
This is the Tai Ji posture transformed from the Wu Ji posture. Wu Ji means voidness in the heart. Tai Ji meand Yin and Ynag start to appear in the abdomen (originally there is one, relatively there is the two of Yin/Yang). This state of fixed posture, means that a a situation of tranquility is generated, and motion is about to begin, but motion has not yet occurred. To change the Chi circulation, one's body must master the ability to change Yin and Yang. Utilize the pre-heaven true Yang Chi, not the awkward Yang Chi of post-heaven.
