Seriously.... Really think about this whole Green Peace thing.....
Some of us don't really care for green peace... Some support their work... Others think we'd be better off without them... Either way I say more power to ya.... Because that's not what is bothering me...
What is bothering me is the U.S. Government is actually going after these people and not the obvious criminals in the case. It makes me wonder what exactly the government is trying to do here.... Okay it doesn't make me wonder because I have a feeling of what's coming next... Green Peace may be faced with their organization being labeled as a terrorist group.
Green Peace goes on the F.B.I. watchlist... and with the (un)Patriot Act Green Peace is in some serious trouble. What will this do for other organizations?
Can you imagine what would happen if Unions made this list if the precedent is set with Green Peace? You know Unions... those nice people that work it out so members can get nice wages and better working conditions... what if they speak out and the U.S. Government goes after them? Or any person who protests? This is a scary precedent trying to be set here... One of the things that make us kind of free is our right to speak out... And now we get to sit back and watch that go slowly away... I mean what the hell do we need to protests for... Go ahead Government... let the prices rise and our wages fall... we won't say a word... We'll be like Boxer from 1984, we'll just work harder, never speaking out. We'll let you lower standards of air so we can breathe yummy smog... We'll never say a word... We'll let all you politicians take those kickbacks from major corporations that want to get away with stuff that isn't necessarily good for us... We won't protest... We won't organize... Get real and go read our first ammendment "the right to free assembly" WE HAVE THAT THERE FOR A REASON!!!!!!! AND IT'S A GOOD ONE!!!
I guess what worries me is that if the U.S. Government wants to go after an environmental organization like Green Peace... we should be asking ourselves who's next? Gay Rights Organizations? The American Civil Liberties Union? Can you see the latter being labeled as terrorists? I can... I can because it seems like the beaurocrats in Washington D.C. want to go after those who don't agree... Happy to label dissenters as Terrorists all in the name of "The War On Terror"
