| Jade grew up in Ponoka in Alberta, Canada. His parents are Toni and Barrie, and he has an older brother name Josh. When Jade was boy he enjoyed sports, but when he was 12 he had a terrible farming accident. Jade was pinned under a tractor and suffered severe burns on his stomach and thighs. He spent months in Edmonton Hospital. He under went about a dozen muscle grafts. At one time they feared they were going to have to amputate his left leg. After his accident, the once active boy could no longer play sports for a long time. His mom, Toni encouraged him to join the community theatre group and he loved it. In high school Jade was recovered enough to play sports again. He met his wife, Gail Sroka at a volleyball tournament. So Jade married his high school sweetheart (awww). Jade and Gail then attended Red Deer College together. Jade majored in Theatre Studies. For two years after graduation, Jade auditioned in Alberta. After getting few roles, Jade drove out to L.A. with his agent and fellow actors in February of 1999. Jade then earned roles on the shows, Hang Time, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Malcolm in the Middle. He finally got his big break on Jag (where he captured our hearts) playing Russian Sgt. Sergei Zhukov, Commander Rabb's long-lost brother. Jade says that he owes his career to his wife, who supported him financially and with love. Gail works at Paramount Television Publicity Department (Maybe she should start those print ads of Sergei...). Myths about Jade: 1. That he was a jerk--His father, Barrie said that Jade has always been kind and considerate. After his accident, Jade was not himself for a while and that is the only instance that Barrie could see Jade being a "jerk" (which was not his fault). 2. That Jade was addicted to coke--Barrie again says that Jade has never touched drugs and rarely uses alcohol.
