God's Plan For Your Salvation
God in the beginning created Adam & Eve in His image and likeness. They had no sin. In fact when God finished creating them He looked & saw everything was very good.
God planted many trees in the garden, among them was the tree of knowledge of good & evil.
God commanded Adam & Eve not to eat of that tree, or else they will die.
They disobeyed Him. They died spiritually, losing the
relationship that they enjoyed with God before, they were thrown out of
After they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good & evil, they knew they were naked and were ashamed. They tried covering themselves using fig leaves. This represents man trying to please God with his good works.
God provided an effective way to cover their nakedness, He sacrificed an animal and gave them its skin for clothes. This is a shadow of the coming sacrifice, Christ Himself, who offers perfect garments that sinners may be fit for God's presence.
Later, Adam & Eve had children, among them were Cain and Abel.
Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Cain offered fruits of his own work, while Abel offered the firstborn of his flock as a sacrifice.
The offering of Cain represents man trying to please God with his own works, and Abel's offering represents Christ's atoning sacrifice.
"And the Lord had regard for Abel and for his offering; but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard." (Genesis 4:4-5)
When God gave the Law to Moses, He also appointed animal sacrifices for the forgiveness of the sins of the Israelites.
"For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement." ( Leviticus 17:11)
Those animal sacrifices were not perfect, they were foreshadowing, a type, of the coming perfect sacrifice, Jesus.
When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming he said:
"Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of
the world!" (John 1:29)
Jesus is God in the flesh(Colossians 2:9;John8:58).
He was sinless, that is why He was able to offer Himself as a perfect sacrifice.
"You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin." (1John 3:5)
"and He Himself bore our
sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to
righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed." (1Peter
" And according to the Law, {one may} almost {say,} all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." (Hebrews 9:22)
"and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption."(Hebrews 9:12)
"He made Him who knew no sin {to be} sin on our
behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2Corinthians
Since Jesus was the Christ, who offered Himself as a sacrifice to pay the price of our sins, now we can obtain forgiveness by believing in Him!!
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." (John 5:24)
"He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." (John 3:36)
If you do not believe in Jesus, you will have to pay the price of your sins yourself, eternally in hell.
Believe in Jesus and live!
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
