This site, Royal Irish Kids 2, is all about a close family bond that was forged over many years of travelling as the children of service men and women.
For the majority of us our serving parent served with The Royal Irish Rangers/Regiment, some were attached to the Regiments. There are active web sites dedicated to the history of the regiments, one of which can be accessed through the links on the right of this page. There are also links to 'community' sites for Soldiers, Wives & 'Kids" where we can exchange messages, photo's and memories.
Our group, Royal Irish Kids was originally set up in Jan 2002 but due to a mishap in early march Yahoo accidentally deleted our group whilst emalgamating all 'Clubs & Groups'.
We lost a lot of our original messages and some photo's. Many hours were then spent trying to re-coup what we could by way of contacts etc and by pure fluke 'Royal Irish Kids 2' was reborn in the early hours of 17th March 2002. Our numbers have grown steadily and we now have 200 members .
We still have a long way to go as there are many families we haven't yet managed to track down, although hopefully that will just be a matter of time! We have had 2 re unions, our 1st in Chester (15/03/03) was amazing, meeting everyone for the first time in over 20 years and knowing exactly who they were, a fabulous night!
We were invited to join the parents in Liverpool (28/02/04) for our 2nd re union which was like old times. Very regimental and 'Old Soldiers". Extremely well organised and great fun. Hopefully we'll be able to catch up again sometime soon........

Elaine & Cath Stone have once again rallied to raise money for Help the Hospices and although they didn't reach their target they have still managed to raise a healthy �416.
We're sure they'll both be back running again soon!
