COURSE DESCRIPTIONS


MECHATRONICS SERVICING - NC II

    This course is designed to develop and enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of a Mechatronics Technician in accordance with industry standards. It covers basic and common competencies in addition to the core competencies such as installing, adjusting and testing mechatronics devices.

CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SERVICING– NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitude of a Consumer Electronics Technician in accordance with industry standards. It covers the basic and common competencies in addition to the core competencies such as assembling and disassembling consumer electronic products and systems, maintaining and repairing audio-video products and systems, servicing and repairing electronically-controlled domestic appliances and cellular phones.

AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE – NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of an individual in the field of automotive servicing in accordance with industry standards. It covers basic, common and core competencies such as: service charging and starting system, service engine mechanical system, service clutch system, service differential and front axle, service steering system, overhaul manual transmission, service brake system and service suspension system.

PERSONAL COMPUTER OPERATION – NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes and skills operating a personal computer in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as: operating a word processing application, operating e-mail browser and other web search engine, operating spreadsheets applications, and operating a presentation packages.

COMPUTER HARDWARE SERVICING – NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes and skills of a computer service technician in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as: installing computer systems and networks, diagnosing and troubleshooting computer systems, configuring computer systems and networks, and maintaining computer systems and networks.

DOMESTIC REFRIGERATION AND AIRCONDITIONING– NC I
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes and skills of RAC Services in accordance with industry standards. It covers basic, common and core competencies such as; Install, service and maintain, troubleshoot, recover and recycle, repair and retrofit window-type air-conditioning/ domestic refrigeration unit.

MACHINING – NC I
This course is designed to develop knowledge, desirable attitudes and skills of a Machinist in accordance with industry standards. It covers basic and common competencies in addition to the core competencies such as: perform bench work, turn work piece, mill work piece and grind work piece.

SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING – NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes and skills to perform shielded metal arc welding work to the standard expected in the workplace. It covers basic and common competencies in addition to the core competencies such as: weld fillets on carbon steel plates in 1F, 2F, 3F and 4F positions and carbon steel pipes in 1F, 2F, 5F and 6F positions, and weld grooves on carbon steel plates in 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G positions and carbon steel pipes in 1G, 2G, 5G and 6G positions.

GAS METAL ARC WELDING – NC III
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of a GMAW welder in accordance with industry standards. It covers basic and common competencies in addition to the core competencies such as: Weld Carbon Steel Plates Using GMAW, Weld Carbon Steel Pipes Using GMAW, Weld Alloy Steel Plates Using GMAW and Weld Alloy Steel Pipes Using GMAW.

COMMERCIAL COOKING – NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of an individual in the field of commercial cooking in accordance with industry standards. It covers basic, common and core competencies such as: maintaining kitchen premises; storing, organizing and preparing foods; preparing meal menu; preparing hot and cold kitchen food, salads, cakes and pastries.

FOOD PROCESSING – NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and desirable attitude in processing foods by salting, curing, smoking, fermentation and pickling; canning and bottling by using sugar concentration. It covers the preparation of equipment, tools, utensils, raw materials and other ingredients, packaging and preparation of production report.

BAKING NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitude in cleaning equipment , tools and utensils and preparing, portion and plate pastries, breads and other dessert items to guests in hotels, motels, restaurants, clubs, canteens, resorts and luxury lines/cruises and other related operations. It covers the basic, common and core competencies.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICE – NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes and skills of food and beverage server in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as: providing link between kitchen and service area, providing food and beverage services, provide room service, and develop and update food and beverages knowledge.

ROUGH CARPENTRY – NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, positive attitude and work values in accordance with international standards. It covers the competencies required on stake-out building lines, fabricate formworks, install framing works, install architectural ceiling/wall sheets/ panels and floor finishes and fabricate/install door/window jambs and panels in operating.

FINISHING CARPENTRY – NC III
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, positive attitude and work values of trainees in accordance with international standards. It covers the competencies required in installing architectural ceiling, wall/sheats/panels and floor finishes, fabricating/installing door/window jambs and panels, installing stair components and/or pre-fabricated stairs assembly and installing built-in/pre-fabricated cabinets.

BUILDING WIRING INSTALLATION – NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of an individual in the field of building wiring installation in accordance with industry standards. It covers basic, common and core competencies such as: good house keeping and safety, preparation of electrical materials and tools, performing roughing-in activities, installing wiring devices, installing electrical protection systems, installing electrical and auxiliary equipment and commissioning electrical system

INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICITY – NC III
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of an individual in the field of building wiring installation in accordance with industry standards. It covers basic, common and core competencies such as: inspecting electrical materials, tools and equipment for electrical control system; designing and assembling electrical controls; installing and wiring electrical devices, auxiliary and protection system; commissioning electrical control system; and programming and installing basic PLC.

HOUSEHOLD SERVICES NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes and skills of Household Services in accordance with industry standards such as: clean living room, dining room, bedrooms, toilet, wash and iron clothes, line, fabric, prepare hot and cold meals/food, and provide food and beverage service.

DRESSMAKING – NC II
    This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of an individual in the field of dressmaking in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as: drafting and cutting pattern for casual apparels, preparing and cutting materials, sewing casual apparels, and applying finishing touches on casual apparels.
