Meet Jack Trammell
Jack is 40 and lives in central Virginia with his children and family. He was born in Berea, Kentucky, and moved several times during his childhood, living at places like Morehead, Kentucky, New York City, Grove City, Pennsylvania, and Shelbyville, Kentucky.
He began writing seriously as a teenager, completing his first novel at the age of sixteen (which remains unpublished and unedited). Since that time, he has published 4 novels, 3 collections of poetry, 2 history books for middle schoolers, more than a dozen short stories, 100 poems, and 50 non-fiction articles for well-known newspapers, magazines and journals. He has also written for two Presidential Campaign Organizations.
Jack is a member of the Poets & Writers association in New York, The Poetry Society of Virginia, The Writer's Club of Virginia, as well as a commissioned Kentucky Colonel and registered Son of the American Revolution. Several of his poems have won awards, and his YA adult novel "Return to Treasure Island" was nominated for an EPPIE. His recent novel "Sarah's Last Secret" has been nominated for an INDIE. He is recognized in several international "Who's Who" publications for authors and artists, and has appeared on local television and radio to talk about writing.
Jack works for Randolph-Macon College in his spare time, serving as Director of Disability Support Services. His current projects include two new books, a series of Civil War articles, completing his Ph.D. at VCU, and more poetry related to his outdoor travels.
