Hola Jack! You are an amazing critter you are! I absolutely loved your
travelogue. It cracked me up but good, which I could really use right now as
I haven't had a good laugh in awhile. You see, I've been blacklisted from
all the lagoons for trying to improve the enforcement of the regulations. It
truly sucks and there are surely other underlying reasons for banning me,
like when I photographed a mess of dead sea turtles, two dead female
adults, and my proposal to do a tourism impact study etc. etc. The salt mine
doesn't want anyone to know about the turtle massacre and nobody wants to
think tourism has any negative impacts. I've been labeled a spy, I guess I'm
the black sheep of the whale watch family. What a wierd world,
conservationist banned for trying to protect whales and their watchers!! 
        My daughter & I worked on an IMAX film last season and ended up
buying a little joint here in Guerrero Negro. We haven't yet been back to
Vancouver Island and I just got my mail today from there. I've been super
down, which is a very unusual mode for me to be in, but the thought of not
being able to be with my buddies as I have for the last 15 years is reallly
having a serious affect on my psyche. I actually think I'm experiencing
withdrawl....wierd. Good thing there's cheap liquor & drugs to ease the pain.
I've gone 9 rounds with the immigration dickbrains and have pretty much
had it with macho shitheads lately. It was OK when I was a tourist, but to
get a work permit is hellish. Anyway, your epic reminded me that i'm OK and
doin the right thing even if I'm not supposed to be doing it. You need a
permit to take a shit here! Thanks for cheering me up. The salinity thing is
interesting, but without testing it, just by swimming in it alot, I can tell
you that I'm alot more buoyant and cant dive down underwater without a
struggle. You need weights to get underwater. I've seen the babies pop up to
the surface without assistance, other whales in other places have to nudge
the calves up for their first breath....so....hmmmmm...but thanks for
sending it....lots of people say they will send or do stuff and never do so
good on ya mate! Hey, you're a superb writer...do you write alot? You
should. Another pal I met in the lagoon years ago has set up a web site

on your whale trip. Hey, thanks for the invite and I'll definitely try to
stop by if I drive by there sometime. I don't have a licensed car at the
moment. It would be a fun pit stop, I'm sure. Anyway, I sure would like to
get my paws on a salinity tester for those nasty salt spills that happen. You
guys are just gonna have to take another road trip down here. So Jack...I've
been bangin away on this damn machine all friggin day and badly need a cuba
