Steven Jackson - A Writer's Journey
Welcome to my writing world where you can see where my creativity takes me.
Writing Report: Sunday, September 10th, 2006
Well not one of the best weeks of my life and even worse I missed last week's report. I have been very slow at getting my last draft of Fathers And Sons done before sending it to theatre playwright development places. I think it may be the "end of the road" thing with the play and so I need to not fear the end of a journey and embrace it a little more as an accomplishment. I know that the play I have written is good and I need to have confidence in it.

As for the serial, I am starting to see my characters more strongly. I have constructed my character types and now I'm in the mode of fleshing them out as people. Two characters are already rooted with the other five to be made into better constructions. I'm hoping to have a few more chapters done this week and maybe show them off to people soon. The other thing I am seeing is my real life being more reflected in the work. I have been having recent issues with my job and this piece, the serial, will act as a sort of healing and maybe a push towards new beginnings.

Books I've Read:

1) Solace by Nicci Gerard - Second novel I have read of her's. The first seemed like it was going to be nice fluff and turned into a much deeper book. This book did much the same thing and I rather enjoyed it though it was a labour near the beginning. A writer I may have to keep following.

I won't have another book review for a bit since I am reading Walt Whitman's Leave Of Grass and it is taking me longer to dig through. It is very good, but poetry is far more challenging to read for me, especially over four hundred pages of it. :)
