Writing Report: Tuesday, June13th, 2006
Well kind of a fast starting week, but ended kind of slowly. I got my first play, Fathers And Sons, reformatted only to learn that even with the forty plus pages I removed, I still need to shorten it from its 105 pages. Oy. Still less than two hours, but desperately needing to be shorter. However it is much easier to read due to the new formatting so I really have nothing to complain about.
With Tennessee, I am going through the first draft. It's mostly okay, but I am noticing that I need to bring a few things like character's perspectives, mostly supporting out more. The main two characters are doing fine though and most of the editing is just trimming right now. I'm hoping to have a reading of it maybe in late August or early September, so that keeps me moving to get a really good draft together. The short story is almost finished that I've been working on and I'm finding a nice closure with it. I will be redoing parts of it to establish the connection more with the main character for which the entire group of stories help describe in his whole lifetime. It's still a little too much about the guy telling the story than about the guy he's talking about right now, but I knew it was going to be longer to focus. Well I haven't finished reading the present book so nothing new there. :) 2006-06-14 02:20:17 GMT
