Writing Report: Tuesday, June 6th, 2006
My work on my short story has been most of my week. It is really coming along and I am starting to see it really take shape in meaning. I am definitely learning that I am a typing writer. My thoughts flow out in very small portions, but when I give it time, the writing comes out good. I have a few more stories in mind plus editing a few others so I am very encouraged by how its coming. I'm hoping that I can put all the stories together in a small book someday, a sort of "Bear Chronicle" as it were. It has been a journey to write about the bear community from the perspective of one man's life. I will have to show them off one time, maybe doing a reading of one of the stories sometime.
I haven't worked on Tennessee much this week, but I am considering entering it into Fringe again next year. I have been volunteering there this past week, earning four free show passes in the process. I really want the feeling of putting on a show, one of my shows, and that is definitely something to work for. I also entered into the 24 Hour Playwriting competition again, learning some of my mistakes from last year and hoping to improve on my performance. Books I Read: 1) Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen - a really sordid play about a family trying to live on past the corruption of its history. Amazing drama from a century ago. 2) Enemy Of The People by Henrik Ibsen - a play about standing up for one's principles despite the odds. "The majority is never right." My new quote for the week. :) 2006-06-06 23:04:07 GMT
