Wow, never wrote two livejournal entries in one day, but wanted to mention this film I saw tonight. It was called OT: Our Town and it was about a South Compton high school putting on a production of Thorton Wilder's Our Town. I recently saw this play for the first time, but I have loved it ever since a small bus trip to northern Saskatchewan when I read it non-stop. Fascinating movie because the school had not produced a play in twenty years and to see these students journey from wondering what this play had to do with their lives to discovering a special connection with Wilder's wisdom on life, love and death was very much worth seeing. If you are interested in seeing a changing moment on film, this is it. Remarkable.
