Answer His Call

The following scriptures show the importance of answering the Lord's beckonings in our lives. We have all felt these tuggings many times in our past. Think back in your past...it could be when you saw a homeless person on the street corner and your heart saddens and you wonder if there isn't something you could be doing to lessen their plight. The Lord beckons you with compassion.

It could be through the emptiness you feel inside sometimes when you pass a church letting out after a Sunday service and all are smiling and laughing and you wonder why you feel so empty and alone. The Lord beckons you by the joy on the faces of those that seek him.

It could be through the majesty of nature around us. You begin to wonder how all that you see around you, from the micro world to the galaxies of outer space, could all exist without a creator and a master plan. The Lord beckons you through His orderly creation.

It could be though the pain or death of a loved one. You have this nagging feeling inside that there has to be more than just this life? Are we just born into this world only to live so many years and then cease to exist? The Lord beckons you though your desire to continue beyond this world.

Friend, don't turn away from these "tuggings" on your heart and conscience. Recognize that you are being invited to join with the God who ordered your existance and who has a plan for your life. A plan that will not only enrich your life now, but will enrich the lives of those you meet and ultimately a plan of service to Him in the life after this one. Don't harden your heart to these callings you feel. You must come to Him when he calls, He is opening a door at that time and the window of opportunity does end. It may come again....and then it may not. We don't know when we may loose our life so don't neglect so great a salvation when it is offered to you. Heed His calling. Choose to walk in the peace of knowing that you can draw close to Jesus and He will never forsake you.

Read these following scriptures and if He is calling you now, don't resist His call.

(Isa 55:6 KJV) Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

(John 6:65 KJV) And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

(Heb 3:7-9 NIV) So, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty years saw what I did.

(Heb 3:15 NIV) As has just been said: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion."

(Heb 4:7 NIV) Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."

(Rev 3:20 KJV) Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
