Thelma Aman’s parents are William “Billy” H. Aman (B: Oct. 1866 in Alabama) and Lillie Unknown (B: July 1870 in Alabama). They moved to Prairie Hill, Limestone Co., Tx from Abilene in early 1885. At this time there were 4 children, 3 boys & 1 girl. As the years past six more children were added to this family making 10 in all. 5 girls and 5 boys. Thelma was the first of the 10 siblings to be born in Texas. Merle and Estelle were two of Thelma’s sisters. Clovis, Elgie Otho, & James “Bas” Bascom were 3 of Thelma’s brothers. They, in 1907, went to the Dallas Fair on a train. Their father was a farmer. Their transportation was a wagon and buggy. Their grandparents, William Bryant and Amelia Aman resided in Alabama, were the family visited every 5 years. They went by coal driven trains and the trip took 3 days and 2 nights.
