Mystery

Christians must be careful about the word mystery. When used in the Bible, it means something that was previously hidden, but is now revealed.
When used by Eastern religions and New Age religions, it means opposed to and apart from reason, not grounded in history (in the cause and effect reality of what exists). It is intellectual suicide.
This is not at all the same as the Christian understanding. Those things in the Bible which are above our ability to understand by reason, are so because some things require an infinite mind to understand. We don't have that. To truly understand the Universe requires a mind far greater than ours, because it is much larger and more complex than our ability to comprehend. It doesn't require a rejection of reason to understand, but a greater reason. God is the ultimate scientist. He sees the entire Universe as a whole and in it's smallest components, all at once, and at all times in the continuum of history.
Any finite quantity, no matter how large, is infinitesimal when compared to infinity. This goes for time, space, and complexity. Think about that for the rest of your life.
