He has a great job, with an excellent future, but there's just one little catch, he hasn't had a serious relationship in quite some time. With his professional life already taken care of, and seeing his friends all happily paired up, this void is bothering him more and more with each passing day. Jack frequently discusses his situation with his best friend Ashley. The two share a close but platonic relationship, and they are closer with each other than either of them has ever been with anyone of any sex. In desperation, Jack decides to enlist the help of another of his friends, the self-proclaimed ladies man, Carlos. What ensues only serves to upset Jack further as he is paired off first with a bitter librarian named Janice, whose own love-life is also hopelessly skidding into a pattern of disappointment. Then, with an unstable fashion magazine editor named Sandy, with equally disterous results. In another act of desperation, Jack asks Ashley to be his date at the wedding of another of his friends. This opens up their relationship to new analysis, with both agreeing that perhaps together they might be able to find what each has been searching for in their relationships with others. |
