Marti I Remember When You Were Martha
(Epoch Three: 1986-1988)

Marti I remember
When you were Martha
And didn't need to show
Your womanly license.
You were contented to die
Of natural causes.

Now you are ready to attack,
Even when there is no one to duel.
You are determined to win,
Even if it means your happiness.

I was in a rush
To bring a grin
To your modern Mona Lisa front.
But all I got back
Were your blue-green eyes,
Which you use to see
Only what you want.
Mirroring mounted sorrow
And stone like distrust.

Like a fool
I was blind
Not wanting to hear
Your premeditated silence.
Rather I sought your permission
To exist.
When all the time
It was your mission
To have me thrust
My own wrist.

Marti I remember
When you were Martha
And you weren't burdened
By complete control.
You were free
As free as a sparrow
In mid flight.
We would lie in the snow
Embracing the winter sunlight.
Not concerned with getting cold.

Where's the door?
Where's the key?
You were in my dreams
But I don't want to awake to tears

I supposed there is an answer.
But I have no idea
How to get in
That wall of yours.
I'm feeling like a dancer
Whose legs have just been crushed.

Marti, still an angel's sight
But is seems
Your heart fell from the sky.
