In their own life.
Watching smiling couples everywhere
Gently holding hands,
While whispering words they themselves
Painfully never hear.

They feel physically unattractive
And spiritually unfeeling.
Words like happiness and fulfillment
For them are found only in a dictionary.

They sometimes feel like spectators
In their own life.
Wishing hopelessly,
They could read their own obituary.

They feel no comfort
Knowing they are not alone
In their loneliness.
That others' suffering
Has no effect on their own.
