Idle Promises
(Epoch Two: 1983-1985)

A young woman in distress
Wants to be an actress.
He tells her he has an in
With a prominent Hollywood producer.
After he did seduce her
He tells her he's vacationing
On the Nile.
He'll keep her resume
On permanent file.

People come to him in turmoil.
He courageously cries,
"I can cure them all."
They leave believing he can turn
Their faith.
Little do they realize
Once they turn away
It's too late.

It's a real shame.
No need to pretend, to put on a show.
Someday he's gonna turn
His last friend into his last foe.

Like a fish out of sea
Nibbling at the bait.
Some one will return choking
asking him to explain.
Why he promised them their dream.
When he was only believing this own fantasy.

Knowing him, he'll probably know
The right thing to say.
Sometimes the truth is never spoken.
