A Different Pair Of Shoes
(
Epoch Two: 1983-1985)

It seems you've paid more
Than your share of dues.
I can understand
Your waiting to run and hide,
Or lie still in your bed and cry.
With blind eyes,
Not happy with what you see.
Especially with the man
Who wears your shoes.

If you want, you can choose
To get on with it.
I've been told no one said,
Life would be an easy score.
Its rules may not be fair to play by.
I've been told everyone should realize
They determine on their own
Whether they win or lose.

I do concur, I must admit
If you think you are a loser
No one will change your mind.
Just like a boozer
Only he drinks his wine.

If you feel you're getting beat.
Walking with blisters on your feet.
Only you can decide
You need a different fit.
Only you can put on
A different pair of shoes.
