In December 1987 Nel get saved through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She became a new creation, 2 Corinthians 5:17. I, Jack, had in the beginning no problem with that, but later on I started to hate that faith of her. That brought a battle in the house. Light against darkness.
Then in February 1988 the Lord showed me in a dream that I would die if I continue to live the life as I did. That night I became very scarred.
Nel told me that there was a way to escape. Christ Jesus! First I didn't want to yield to Him, but later on I prayed to the Lord and ...... He listen. That night I got saved.
It took me two years to find my way in the christian life. In February 1990 the Lord showed me that it was time not to give only my heart to
Him, but my whole life. I did and that changed me!
We started to get involved in church ministry, evangelism, teaching youthgroups and working for a Aid organisation named Dorkas.
Then in October 1993, while we were on a Mission Conference of New Tribes Mission, the Lord called us for mission. We obeyed His calling and went through the training of New Tribes Mission
August 1997 till July 1998 we went through Bible School in Engeland. Then from August 1998 till July 1999 through Mission Institute in America and at last from August 1999 till May 2000 through Language Institute also in America. (see the link "Unprepared?)
After the training we went to the Netherlands for deputation. The Lord blessed us with brothers and sisters who stay behind us in prayer and financial support. On the 29th of July 2001 we went to Bolivia. |
