Luke's Club: Luke:All right, Sunshine, what's wrong. You've been snapping at everyone since you came to work. Sonny:Miranda and I had a fight. Luke:About? Sonny:My mother. I told Miranda about Deke and she implied it was somehow my mother's fault. That my mother should have protected me from Deke. She was also appalled my mother told me to leave home when I was 16. She just refused to see my mother had no choice. Luke:Didn't she? Sonny:What is that supposed to mean? Luke:Let's get real, partner. Your mother could have left Deke. She had other options aside from letting him beat you. SHe could have asked the Cerullo's for help. Gone on welfare. Gotten a job. Sonny, are you mad at Miranda because she just voiced something you've always thought, yourself? Sonny:Luke, my mother wasn't a strong woman. But at least she didn't desert me the way Mike did. Luke:Sonny, I know you loved your mother. But it would also be perfectly natural if you were also mad at her. Do you think it's possible all those years you blamed Mike for everything that happened to you it was a way so you wouldn't blame your mother. That whatever anger you had towards your mother you put on to Mike? Sonny:You been hanging around Dr. Collins, lately? You're sounding suspiciously like a shrink. Which is something else Miranda brought up. That I should have therapy to deal with what happened to me. Luke:What I don't understand is why you suddenly decided to tell Miranda about Deke. Sonny:I had a nightmare about Deke and I stupidly told Miranda about it. Luke:Did something happen to trigger it? Sonny:You might say that. Luke, when I tell you about this you're going to think I'm crazy. Last night, I thought I saw Deke in the fog. Luke:What? Sonny:I know I couldn't possibly have. That Deke's dead. But it seemed so real. Luke:Sonny, you're not going to like this. You were talking about how Helena and Stefan made you feel like a kid again and I was teasing you about the fog. It could have caused you to hallucinate about Deke. Sonny:What you mean is it caused me to have a hallucination because of my manic depression, don't you? You really believe I have it? Luke:Sonny, somewhere deep inside you you know you have it, but you won't admit to it anymore than you'll admit there's a part of you that's mad at your mother no matter how much you loved her. Mike's Apartment: Mike(answers the door to Miranda)Miranda, this is a surprise. Is something wrong? Miranda;I just had a fight with your pig-headed son. I suppose you know about this stepfather? Mike:So he finally told you. Miranda;Yeah, and I made the cardinal sin of holding his mother responsible. I'm not blaming her for being hit, but I am for her letting her child be hit. I just don't know how any mother could allow that to happen. I mean, if any man so much as raised a hand to my mother, she'd gullet them. And although my mother wasn't the best mother in the world, I don't think she'd have allowed anyone to abuse us. Mike:You had a strong mother, but Sonny didn't. I loved Adella, dearly, but I wasn't blind to her faults. She was very dependant on men. She went from her father, to me, to Deke. Miranda:Sort of like Brenda, huh? It's kind of ironic, isn't it? Sonny fell in love with someone just like his mother. Mike:Let me offer you a piece of advice on how to deal with my son. Keep your opinions to yourself about his mother. Michael adores his mother. It doesn't matter to him that she allowed him to be abused and did nothing to stop it from happening. What matters is his mother never abandoned him the way I did. Which is why for years he's blamed me for what happened to him instead of his mother. Miranda:Mike, you do realize Sonny needs to go into therapy to deal with this? No once could go through what he did without being damaged psychologically. Mike:Yes, I realize that, but he'll never do it. He doesn't trust very easy and I don't see him ever willingly opening up all his old wounds for some psychiatrist. And if you force the issue I think it's going to cause problems between you. Miranda:Mike, I don't have a choice. Sonny and I are going to have a baby. For our child's sake, Sonny needs to deal with his past so our child will have a happy futurel(she runs a hand through her hair)You know, I thought if Sonny would accept he had manic depression and deal with it, everything would be fine. But you son's problems go so much deeper. He's got a very messed-up head and if he doesn't do something to get himself straightened out, I'm afraid it's going to end up adversely effecting out child. Anna and Robert's Quarter's, The Underground Compound: Victor(enters)What's going on here. The guard told me Scorpio was sick. Anna:When I came back from having lunch with you I thought Robert looked a little peaked and he mentioned he was feeling tired. I was afraid Robert was having a relapse from that poison Faison fed him. I wanted to have him checked out immediately, but Robert wanted to wait until after he took a nap to see how he was feeling. And as you can see he's so much worse.(Robert slips the knife out of his waistband and holds it, unseen, by the side of his leg) Victor:Calm down, Anna, it'll be all right. Anna:Calm down! Calm down! How can I calm down. My husband is having a hard time breathing. Please, Victor, you've got to do something to help him. Victor:I don't know what I can do. I warned Faison not to use Scorpio as a guinea pig. I've brought some of the antidote to Faison's poison, but I don't know if it'll work. Anna:Please, give it to him. We just can't sit around and do nothing. Victor:You're right, of course. (he goes and sits on the bed next to Robert whose gasping for air. He starts slapping Robert to arouse him)Come on, Scorpio, I've got something that may help you.(as he leans close to Robert to pour the antidote down his throat, Robert suddenly lunges forward, grabs him and holds the knife to his throat) Robert:Don't move a muscle or I'll slit your throat. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
