Carly's Hospital Room:
Carly(opens her eyes as the tubing is tightened around her neck and 
begins to struggle with her assailant. She manages to pull off something 
from around his neck)
Virginia:(enters)Caroline, are you awake? What are you doing to my 
daughter. Get away from her. Help! Somebody help!(the assailant, dressed 
in surgical scrubs, complete with a surgical mask concealing his face, 
let's go of the tubing, shoves Virginia away from him, purposely drops 
something on the floor and flees)Caroline, are you all right?
Carly:(choking and gasping for air)He would have killed me if you hadn't 
come in when you did. Why would he want to kill me.
Virginia:He? You keep saying he. Do you know who it was?
Carly:No. I'm just assuming it was a man. I suppose it could have even 
been a woman. Momma, why would someone want to kill me.
Virginia:I don't know, baby, but I know who can find out. I'm calling 
the police.

The Docks, Sean's Limo:
Sonny(climbs inside the car)I wasn't expecting to hear from you so soon. 
You said you know who Miranda is. Well, tell me. Who is she?
Sean:You'd better brace yourself. It's going to come as quite a shock. 
But it's an unexpected boon for us and for the investigation. Miranda 
Jameson is really Isabella Miranda Cassadine. Isn't the unbelievable. I 
need you to get close to Stefan Cassadine and you're unknowingly engaged 
to his little sister.
Sonny:I don't believe this. There must be a mistake. Miranda's not a 
Cassadine. She's nothing like them.
Sean:I double-checked my facts to be sure. It's true. Miranda is 
Isabella, youngest child of Mikkos and Helena. She's been missing since 
she ranaway when she was 16. Isn't this great.
Sonny:Great! Are you nuts. The woman I'm in love with is a Cassadine. 
She's a member of that family of power mad maniacs. The old lady, who 
was almost my mother-in-law, kidnapped Laura and ordered Leslie Webber 
killed. Miranda's father tried to turn the town into a giant ice cube. 
And I don't even want to get into what Stefan Cassadine is like. I 
should have listened to Miranda and just lived in the present and left 
her past in the past.
Sean:You're not seeing the whole picture,  Sonny. All we hoped was for 
you to get a job or something working for Stefan Cassadine, but this is 
so much better. You're engaged to Isabella Cassadine. Stefan won't even 
suspect you of getting close to his sister because she's a Cassadine 
because you asked her to marry you before you even know who she really 
was. You're in the perfect position to get inside that family and help 
us take them down once and for all.
Sonny:Who cares about your investigation. This is my life we're talking 
about. The woman I'm in love with is a Cassadine and I have to figure 
out if knowing that changes how I feel about her.
Sean(stops Sonny from getting out of the limo)There's nothing to figure 
out. You're going to marry her and as soon as possible.
Sonny:Look, I married one woman for all the wrong reasons and I'm not 
going to do it again. If I get married again, it'll be for the right 
reasons. Not to help your investigation along.
Sean:Sonny, Miranda was a Cassadine when you fell in love with her. 
Knowing doesn't change how you feel about her. You asked this woman to 
be your wife. If nothing had gone wrong at your wedding, you'd be 
married to her, right now. You do love her, don't you?
Sonny:Yes, I love Miranda, which is why I won't do this to her. You want 
me to use my relationship with her to get the goods on her family. When 
she finds out, how do you think she's going to feel about me?
Sean:If she loves you enough, she'll get over it. What about Robert and 
Anna. Miranda's family is keeping them prisoner. You saw what they did 
to Leslie Webber. How will you ever be able to look Robin in the face 
again if you don't do everything possible, including marrying Miranda, 
to save her parents.

General Hospital, Stefan's Office:
Brenda:(knocks and enters)Mr. Cassadine?
Stefan:Miss Barrett, what can I do for you?
Brenda;I really debated with myself if I should come and tell you this. 
Then I thought if some patient died because I remained silent it would 
be my fault. So, I decided I had to come to you and tell you this.
Stefan:Tell me what?
Brenda:You have a nurse on staff named Madeline James. But that's not 
her name and I doubt she's even a nurse. Her real name is Miranda 
Jameson.
Stefan:I met Miranda Jameson before and Miss James looks nothing like 
her.
Brenda:That's because she had her face surgically altered after she left 
town.
Stefan:Are you sure about this?
Brenda:If you don't believe me, all you have to do is ask Jax. That's 
Jasper Jacks, international financial genius.
Stefan:I'm aware of who he is, Miss Barrett. Thank you for coming and 
informing me of this situation. If anyone else found out about this the 
hospital could be sued.
Brenda:Oh, it was my pleasure.

Carly's Hospital Room:
Garcia:So, you woke-up to find someone dressed in surgical scrubs trying 
to kill you?
Carly:That's right.
Garcia:Do you have any idea why someone might want to kill you?
Carly:I haven't done anything to anyone if that's what you mean.
Virginia:That's not exactly true. Bobbie Cassadine found out that 
Caroline is her daughter and didn't take it too well because Caroline 
was responsible for breaking up her marriage to Dr. Jones. Dr. Jones 
didn't take it too well, either.
Carly:Momma, you're not suggesting Toe-nee would try to hurt me, are 
you? Toe-nee loves me.
Virginia:Caroline, Dr. Jones knows you had a miscarriage, but he hasn't 
even come to visit you. You lied to the man about everything, including 
your name. If anyone has a motive, he does.
Garcia:Are you sure you didn't recognize your assailant's face?
Carly:I told you, I couldn't see it. He was wearing a surgical mask. I'm 
not even sure it was a he.
Garcia:You didn't see anything that would help you identify him?
Carly:How many times do I have to say it. No.
Garcia:Can you think of anyone else who might want to do you harm?
Carly:You could try questioning my Uncle Luke. Man, that guy's a psycho. 
When he first learned I was his niece, he threatened to kill me if I 
didn't leave town.
Garcia:I'll do that.(he notices something laying by his foot)What's 
this.(he picks it up)It's an earring. Do either of you recognize it?
Virginia(gasps)I do. Bobbie was wearing an earring like that at her 
husband's dinner party.

General Hospital, Stefan's Office:
Miranda:(enters)You wanted to see me, Mr. Cassadine.
Stefan:Something's been brought to my attention. Please sit down, Miss 
Jameson. Yes, I know you're Miranda Jameson.
Miranda:What's this about?
Stefan:Miss Jameson, your nursing credentials have been put into 
question. You were hired under the nursing credentials of Madeline 
James. But since that's not who you are, I must assume their phony.
Miranda:Mr. Cassadine, I can provide you with nursing credentials for 
Miranda Jameson. While I was going through reconstructive surgery after 
I'd been in an explosion, I mentioned to my doctor I'd always been 
interested in nursing and he arranged for me to study nursing as a way 
to take my mind off of all the operations to repair my face. And when I 
was fully recovered, I worked as a nurse in the same hospital I was a 
patient in. If necessary I can prove it.
Stefan:Those nursing credentials wouldn't be any more valuable than the 
ones for Madeline James, since you're no more Miranda Jameson than I am. 
That's right, I know. Before you married Mr. Jacks in Australia, Miranda 
Jameson didn't even exist. Care to tell me who you reall are?
Miranda:No, I wouldn't.
Stefan:Then you leave me no choice but to fire you effective 
immediately.
Miranda:I understand. But there's one thing I'd like to know. Who came 
to you and brought this to your attention. It was Brenda Barrett, wasn't 
it?
Stefan:As a matter of fact it was.
Miranda:Thank you.(she gets up and leaves)
Stefan(picks up the phone)Alexis, you remember Miranda Jameson? I want 
to find out who she really is. I hate a mystery.

Jax's Penthouse:
Edward(looks up and down the hall before slipping inside)I wonder where 
the nincompoop would keep a gun?(he begins checking in the drawers. 
Finding nothing, he heads upstairs. He hears the shower running as he 
enters the bedroom. Creeping over to the nightstand, while keeping an 
eye on the closed bathroom door, he finds the gun)Jackpot. You'd better 
enjoy that shower, Jax, because the next one you take will be in the 
men's lock-up with a guy named Moose.(he hears someone entering 
downstairs)
Jax:(bellows from downstairs)Brender, I'm home and I got a surprise for 
you.
Edward:Oh, great, now what am I gonna do.
Brenda(shuts off the shower and bellows back)What was that, Jax, 
darling. I'm in the shower.
Jax:Stay right where you are, Brender, I'm coming. I'm already taking 
off me clothes.
Edward(looks frantically around)Oh, my god, what am I gonna do?(he 
manages to slip under the bed before Jax enters)
Jax(enters)Brender.
Edward(looks out from under the bed in time to see Jax eagerly stepping 
out of his pants)Oh, my god!
Brenda(appears in the doorway wrapping a towel around herself)Jax, 
darling, did you say you had something for me?
Jax:I do.(he reaches inside his speedos)I should have made you search me 
for it.(he pulls out a diamond necklace and dangles it between his thumb 
and finger)The minute I saw this in the jeweler's window I said this has 
me Brender's name written all over it.
Brenda(runs to him, jumps up and straddles him)Oh, Jax, darling. You're 
so wonderful. What did I ever do to deserve you.
Edward(makes a face of distaste)Oh, god, what did I ever do to deserve 
this?

Wyndemere:
Stefan(enters as Bobbie's carrying a suitcase downstairs)Barbara, where 
do you think you're going?
Bobbie:Home. By telling me that Luke knew Carly was my daughter, you've 
set me free.
Stefan:Barbara, if you walk out that door, I swear I'll go to Luke and 
tell him everything.
Bobbie:I'm sure you will. I had to handle the truth about Carly, Luke 
will just have to do the same about Nikolas.(she opens the door to find 
Garcia standing in the entrance)
Garcia:Mrs. Cassadine, just the person I was looking for. May I come in?
Bobbie:What can I do for you?
Garcia:Are you aware someone tried to kill Carly Roberts?
Bobbie:Did they succeed?
Garcia:No, Virginia Benson interrupted them.
Bobbie:Too bad, but then only the good die young.
Garcia:That's a very strange attitude to take about someone trying to 
kill your daughter.
Bobbie:Look, I may have given birth to her, but I don't consider her my 
daughter. Virginia Benson is welcome to her if she wants her.
Garcia:Do you recognize this?(he holds up the earring he found)
Bobbie:It looks like a pair I own.
Stefan:Detective, what is the meaning of this?
Garcia:We found this laying on the floor by Miss Roberts bed. Mrs. 
Cassadine, where were you at ten last night?
Stefan:My wife was here with me and the servants will testify to it.
Garcia:What's with the suitcase? You weren't thinking of leaving town, 
were you?
Stefan:My wife and I were about to depart on our honeymoon. You should 
recall we're only recently married. You did falsely arrest me on my 
wedding night.
Garcia:I'll have to ask you both not to leave town.
Stefan:Of course, and if you have anymoe questions for either of us you 
can aske them through our lawyer, Alexis Davis. Now I think you should 
leave.
Bobbie(turns on Stefan the minute Garcia closes the door behind him)Why 
did you lie to him?
Stefan:I was just trying to be a loyal and devoted husband. I will, 
however, feel compelled to tell the police the truth if you should 
decide to leave me. I'd feel it was my civic duty.
Bobbie:You bastard! You did it on purpose. You know if you go to the 
police now it'll look like I tried to kill that little twit.
Stefan:Ah, poor Barbara. You must feel like a bird in a gilded cage. 
Everytime the door swings open, you think you're about to fly to 
freedom, only for me to slam it shut on your beak.

Mike's Apartment:
Sonny(opens the door to Miranda)Miranda, what are you doing here?
Miranda:May I come in?
Sonny:Sure, I was just about to call you as a matter of fact.
Miranda(smiling uncertainly)I guess great minds think alike.
Sonny:How have you been?
Miranda:I just got fired from the hospital courtesy of Brenda. I guess 
she thought if I lost my job I might leave town and abandon you to her 
awaiting arms.
Sonny:How did she manage that?
Miranda:She told Stefan Cassadine I wasn't Madeline James and he fired 
me. I'm glad it happened, actually. It made me realize I've been playing 
right into her hands by not being honest with you. That's why I'm here. 
I'm just a little afraid after I tell you this you'll no longer feel the 
same way about me.
Sonny:You don't have to, Miranda. I already know who you are. You're 
Isabella Cassadine.
Miranda:How did you...
Sonny:It doesn't matter. When I found out I wondered if it would change 
my feeling for you and when I opened the door to find you standing here 
I had my answer. You were right. Whoever we were or whatever we did 
before we fell in love just doesn't matter. I fell in love with the 
person you are, not who you are.
Miranda:Do you really mean that?
Sonny:(takes her face in his hands and kisses her passionately)Does that 
convince you. I love you, even if you are a Cassadine.
Miranda:I'm not. I always felt like a changeling. I never fit in with my 
family. And if I have anything to say about, my family will never 
realize I'm Miranda Jameson.
Sonny:That's going to be a little hard with us living in the same town 
as your brother, don't you think?
Miranda:We don't have to stay in Port Charles. There's nothing really 
keeping us here, is there? Sonny, let's do it. Let's go somewhere where 
no one knows us and start a brand new life.
Sonny:Miranda, Mike and I are just starting to have a real father/son 
relationship. I just got my father back, I don't want to lose him again.
Miranda:Sonny, I wouldn't ask this if I thought we could be happy here, 
but I know we can't. And I'm not talking about my family. Brenda will 
never let us be happy. She broke into my room and got me fired and 
that's only the beginning.
Sonny:Maybe you're right. No one in this town is ever going to let me 
forget I was the crimelord of Port Charles. All right, you've convinced 
me. Let's do it.
Miranda:(she jumps in his arms)Do you mean it? I promise you'll never 
regret this.(she runs her fingers through his hair)I'm going to make you 
so happy and I'm going to take such good care of you.
Sonny:(laughs)Isn't that supposed to be my line?(they melt into a kiss)

Carly's Hospital Room:
Stefan:(enters)I understand you wished to see me, Miss Roberts. Or 
should I say, Miss Benson?
Carly:Yeah, you might say that. Did you really think I wouldn't 
recognize you under the surgical mask? I know you're the one who tried 
to kill me.
