CHAPTER THIRTY

“WHAT KIND OF danger?” Carly asked suspiciously as she took an aggressive step towards Alexis. “The danger wouldn’t be from you, would it?”

“Sonny, reign your vampiress in.” Alexis ordered.

“Cool it, Carly.” He told her.

“Sonny, she’s a witch.” Carly retorted. “We can’t be too careful with her kind.” She added. “It’s because of her kind we’re in the mess that we’re in at the moment.”

“Carly’s right, Alexis.” Sonny agreed. “What do you want? How did you find us.” He added as he grabbed her by the throat. “This had better be good, Alexis. Because if it isn’t, pregnant or not, you’ve just signed your death warrant.”

“It’s either you or us.” Carly smirked. “And it isn’t going to be us.”

“I’ve come here to save both your lives.” Alexis glared. “Don’t make me regret the impulse.”

“Don’t believe her, Sonny.” Carly retorted. “She’s lying. Why would she lift a finger to help us.”

“Because I don’t want my child mated with yours when he’s born.” Alexis spat in return. She turned to Sonny and ignored Carly, figuring of the two, Sonny would be more easier to reason with than his bloodthirsty bride. “Can we go somewhere private where we can talk. If Ned discovers I’ve betrayed him, there’s no telling what he might do to me.”

“We’ll take you back to where were staying.” Sonny released his grip on Alexis throat. “But know this. If this some sort of trick, you won’t live long enough to regret it.”

“Sonny!” Carly objected. “If we take her to our hideout, she could tip off the other witches.”

“Carly, she located the town we’re staying in.” Sonny reminded her. “It won’t take much more to figure out where were staying.” He added. “If she’s truly on the level, we need to find out what she has to say. It could just say our lives.” He turned to Alexis. “After you.”

NED WAS STILL with Helena when his cell phone suddenly began to ring. “Will you excuse me while I get that?”

“Of course not, dear boy.” Helena purred.

Ned glanced at her uneasily as she began to trace a finger up and down his inner thigh. He’d finally seemed to have broken the ice with Helena, but now he had another thing to worry about. What if Helena demanded he service her the way Andreas and the other’s did. Would Alexis go along with that for the cause, and could he really bring himself to bed Helena.

“What have you got to report for me?” Ned asked. “What! Are you sure? Thank you.”

“What is it?” Helena wanted to know.

“It looks like we’ve hit pay dirt.” Ned told her. “Alexis told me my grandfather asked her to use her position as Sonny’s lawyer to search his records to try and see if she could find out where Sonny and Carly had taken off to. Alexis was going to do that, tonight. As a precaution I had someone watching Alexis when I came over here.” He added. “Alexis was against helping Edward find Sonny and Carly and I figured she might decide to warn them of the impending danger if she figured out where they are.”

“And she found them?” Helena asked eagerly.

“As we speak.” He told her.

Helena stood up. “Then let’s go, darling. We have two vampires to catch before they fly the coop, again.”

SOREL LOOKED OVER the clothes he’d brought with him to see what would be suitable for tonight’s dinner. He intended to be sharing Stefan Cassadine’s bed before this night was over. He’d never bedded a warlock before. It should prove an interesting night. Of course once Sorel had worn out Stefan sexually and he was out like a light then he would make his move against him. He would tie Stefan down to the bed, the same way he had staked him to the ground. Then he would set him on fire and watch as the witch burned alive.

Sorel knew he should wait until Stefan told him what this big secret was that Cassadine knew about Corinthos. But after visiting the sight of his execution by Cassadine he felt an overwhelming need to avenge his death and to avenge it now. Besides, there were other witches who could tell him what he needed to know. Cassadine was expendable. Tonight he would die the same agonizing death he’d inflicted on Sorel.

Sorel took a rather low-cut red evening gown out of the closet. Yes, this was it. Red for blood. Cassadine’s blood. And it was cut so low Bobbie Spencer’s breasts would practically be falling out of the thing. Something told him Cassadine was a boob man. But weren’t they all.

He looked at Bobbie’s reflection in the full-length mirror. He was wearing a strapless bustier, bikini underwear and a pair of fishnet stockings held up by garter belts not to mention a pair of four-inch spiked heels. “My, my, Ms. Spencer.” He ran his hands down Bobbie’s body turning himself on. “If I had to be stuck inside a female’s body, this was definitely the right one to choose. I don’t even need a partner. You and I could have plenty of fun on our own, couldn’t we?”

To Sorel’s profound shock Bobbie’s reflection began to talk back to him in the mirror. “Why are you doing this to me?”

“Ah, my dear Ms. Spencer.” Sorel reclaimed his calm quickly. “So you’ve finally making yourself known to lodge a complaint over how I’m ill using your body, have you?”

“You tricked me.” Bobbie complained. “I was under your spell when I let you possess my body. If I had known what I was doing I would have never allowed you to take over me.”

“Well, it’s too late now to issue a complaint.” He told her. “Now you’re just along for the ride. And, my dear, I intend to take your body for quite a little ride, tonight.”

“I’ll fight you!” She declared passionately.

“Don’t even bother.” Sorel told her. “You’ll never defeat me. Trying to fight me is futile. I suggest you just sit back and enjoy what I do with your body, because you have no other choice.“ He added. “You welcomed me into your body and now there’s no going back. I‘m not giving up control of it. So why don‘t you just crawl back into the shadows and stop your whining.”

“ALL RIGHT, WE’RE here.” Sonny said as Alexis took a seat in his and Carly’s hideout. “So start talking.”

“I don’t know where to begin.” She nervously began to fiddle with her hands.

“How about starting with how you found us.” Carly piped up.

“That’s a very good question.” Sonny agreed. “Why don’t you start with how you found us.”

“I came here to help you.” Alexis declared. “I don’t appreciate the third degree.”

“And Carly and I don’t appreciate you witches thinking you can use us as breeder stock.” Sonny spat in return. “Because of you witches, Carly and I have had to leave our home to run for our lives. Because of you witches, demons from hell have tried to kill us.” He added. “So I think the least you people owe us is a few answers. Starting with just how you happened to find us.”

“I’m your attorney in case you’ve forgotten.” She reminded him. “I just went through your records and I was able to narrow down where you might be.”

“Why?” Sonny wanted to know.

“Edward Quartermaine wants me to help find you.” She explained. “He has plans for you that go further than the current mess we‘re all involved in. He wants to have you both committed to Ferncliffe so the two of you can continue to breed children for him.”

“Sonny, she’s working for the old buzzard.” Carly exploded. “She’s going to lead him right to us.”

“No, I’m not.” Alexis jumped to her feet. “If I were, I wouldn’t be here. I came here to warn you so you can have time to escape before he arrives.”

“Why would you warn us?” Sonny demanded to know.

“Because for reasons I can’t go into.” She explained. “I need to stay in Edward’s good graces. But I didn’t feel right about what Edward plans for the two of you. This way I can tell Edward where you are, but by the time he gets here you’ll be long gone.”

“Sonny, I don’t trust her.” Carly snarled. “She’s not on the level. I can feel it.”

“Look.” Alexis said as she headed for the door. “Believe me or don’t. I don’t really care. But if you’re here when Edward shows up, you’ve only got yourselves to blame.” She added as she sailed out the door. “My conscience will be clear. I’ve done my duty. What you do afterwards is entirely up to you.”

STEFAN POURED HIMSELF a drink for courage as he looked towards the stairs. Sorel would be arriving any second for dinner. This mess had been dragged out long enough. He wanted it finished tonight. He found a spell in one of the ancient tomes on witchcraft that he possessed. But what he was planning to do was very dangerous. It could cost both him and Bobbie their lives if he wasn’t able to pull this off. Still, he felt he had no choice. This thing had been going on for far too long. It had to end tonight one way or another. The worst part of it was for this spell to work it had to happen as Sorel was climaxing during sexual intercourse. Which meant he was going to have to bring himself to bed a woman who he knew was being possessed by a man. Somehow he vowed he’d manage to do it no matter how distasteful he found the whole thing to be.

Sorel suddenly appeared at the top of the stairs. If judging by the way he was dressed...or almost dressed would be a more appropriate description...Sorel seemed to have the same thing in mind for Stefan that Stefan had in mind for him. That should make this distasteful matter a little bit more easy to pull off. Still, Stefan wondered if seduction was the only thing on sorel’s mind. After all, he was the one who had destroyed him. The man must want revenge against him. If Stefan was in Sorel’s shoes he know he would.

“Good evening, Barbara.” Stefan greeted Sorel with a smile. “May I pour you a drink.”

“Yes,” Sorel replied. “Please do.” He went over and sat down on the sofa and crossed his legs in a manner so it would become obvious to Stefan he had no underwear on. Sorel had removed it all before slipping into the red slinky dress he was wearing. To Stefan’s horror he found himself becoming aroused at the sight before him. Apparently that wasn’t going to be the problem he thought it might be. Sorel smirked as he glanced down at the seat of Stefan’s trousers and saw evidence of his arousal. Excellent, this would be easier than he thought it would be.

Stefan came over to the couch and handed him the drink he’d just poured to Sorel, then he sat down next to him. “What shall we drink to, Barbara.”

“Let’s drink to you.” Sorel suggested. He leaned forward to give Stefan an even better view of Bobbie’s breasts as he boldly ran his hand up the inside of leg of Stefan’s trousers towards his crotch. “I’ve lost count of how many times you’ve come to my rescue. And here you are doing it again by inviting me into your home so you can protect me.” Stefan forced himself not to jump up off the couch in repulsion as Sorel ran the nail of Bobbie’s index finger up and down his zip. “I really wish there was something I could do to repay you for all your kindness.”

“Let’s dispense with the games, shall we, Barbara.” Stefan slipped his hand between Bobbie’s thighs and returned the caress that Sorel was giving him. “I want you as much as you want me. So let’s just skip dinner and go straight to dessert, shall we?”

“Your bedroom or mine?” Sorel asked in return.

“Mine.” Stefan replied taking Bobbie’s hand in his. “It’s closer.” Then he lead Sorel upstairs, praying he’d actually be able to go through with this.

“LETICIA, I WANT you to use the first phone booth you see when you make it to the road.” Sonny instructed her. “I want you to phone The Brotherhood. They’ll come and get you and make sure you have safe passage to Cassadine.”

“Sonny, I don’t like this.” Carly complained as Leticia held Michael. “We agreed to keep Michael with us.”

“Carly, we don’t have a choice any longer.” Sonny replied. “We’ve got to make sure Michael is safe and he can’t be with us.”

“And you think he will be with my father.” Carly asked anxiously.

“It’s a risk we’re going to have to take.” Sonny declared. “We stayed in one place too long which allowed Alexis to find us. From now on we’re going to have to keep moving and that’s no life for Michael. He’ll be better off with Cassadine and Bobbie.”

“Sonny, I’m going to be giving birth pretty soon.” She reminded him. “Whose going to help me give birth if Leticia isn’t with us? Whose going to watch us during the day while we slumber and keep us safe?”

“Carly, don’t you get it.” He told her. “There’s no such thing as safe for you and me any longer. As for who’ll help you give birth, I’ll do it. We made this baby together and that’s how we’re going to deliver it.”

“Sonny, you don’t know anything about birthing a baby.” She told him.

“Then I’ll have to learn, won’t I?” Sonny retorted. “Now it’s time for Leticia and Michael to go.”

“You two take care of yourselves.” Leticia said as she headed for the door with Michael in her arms.

“I don’t know when or if we’ll ever see you again.” Sonny replied.

“I have faith in you and Carly.” She assured him. “I’ll be seeing you both again soon. You’re both survivors. You’ll survive this.” With that she and Michael disappeared into the night.

“Sonny, I don’t like this.” Carly began to pace nervously. “We’re sending Michael into the care of a warlock all on the word of that witch, Alexis Davis.” She added. “Sonny, she could have lied to both of us for some nefarious reason.”

“It doesn’t matter if she was telling the truth or not.” Sonny answered. “All that matters is that she found us. There’s no telling how long we’ve got before the others find us, as well. We’ve got to be long gone before they get here. We‘re running out of time.”

“I’m afraid you’re already all out of time, Mr. Corinthos.” Helena stood in the door with Ned and purred lethally. “In fact, your time has just run out.”
