Jax's Penthouse: Jax:V, where did you go to, last night? When Mac and I realized you were missing we almost called out a search party for you. V:Jax, I just needed to be alone after I learned my whole life is a lie. Jax:What are you going to do? V:Go through with the paternity test and find out if Sean Donely is really my father. Then find out what Sean Donely and Frisco Jones really want from me. Jax:What makes you think they want anything from you? V:Sean Donely could have came here, himself, to tell me I may be Gillian Devane. A member of the WSB had no need to come along for the ride, unless there's more going on her than they've told me so far. Gail Baldwin's Office: Gail:So, Brenda, why did you want to see me? Lily:Be careful what you say to her. There's no telling what Sonny may have told her. Brenda:Actually, I'm here because Sonny asked me to come. You know how some people just never think a person is well after they've had a mental breakdown. Well, that's Sonny. I'm just humoring him to prove to him I'm fine. Gail:How do you feel living with Sonny now that he's married to Lois. Brenda:Dr. Baldwin, I got over Sonny a long time ago. I'm really happy Sonny's found someone and is happy. Gail:So it doesn't bother you seeing him with another woman? And not just any woman, but your best friend, Lois. Brenda:You know, even when I was with Sonny, I always sensed something between Sonny and Lois. So I'm not really all that surprised. Gail:Then you're fine with it? Brenda(smiles as she looks at Lily whose standing behind Gail)I'm perfectly fine. Port Charles County Courthouse: Dara:Detective Taggert, tell us what happened when you and Detective Garcia searched Mr. Corinthos' apartment. Taggert:We found a jacket that had a stain on the sleeve that we thought was blood. Dara:(holds up the jacket in a plastic bag)This jacket? Taggert:One and the same. Dara:Your honor I'd like this jacket entered and marked as Exhibit A and the lab report verifying that the stain on the jacket is indeed the blood of Carla Solieto marked as Exhibit B. Judge:So marked. Dara:You also confiscated Mr. Corinthos' gun and ran a ballistics test on it, didn't you. What did you discover. Taggert:The bullet that was dug out of Carla Solieto came from Mr. Corinthos' gun. Dara:Your honor I'd like the gun and ballistic report marked as Exhibits C & D. Judge:So noted. Dara:No further questions. Judge:Your witness, Mr. Ward. Justus:Detective Taggert, didn't it strike you as odd that Mr. Corinthos wouldn't get rid of the bloody jacket and gun he used to shoot Carla Solieto? Taggert:Maybe he didn't think he'd be a suspect in her shooting and felt no need to do so. Justus:Oh, come on, Detective Taggert, you can do better than that. Everytime someone breaks a nail in this town, you try to pin it on him. Before Carla Solieto even arrived at the hospital, you and Detective Garcia were knocking at Mr. Corinthos' door to question him about the shooting. So why wouldn't he get rid of the evidence that could link him to the crime. Why would he just leave it laying around for you to find. Taggert:All criminals are stupid. Justus:Nobody's that stupid. You and Mr. Corinthos have quite a history together, don't you. It all began when someone shot Mr. Corinthos up with heroine. Instead of trying to find out why tried to kill him, you tried to blame it on him and accused him of being an addict. When you arrested Mr. Corinthos for helping Luke Spencer fake his wife's death, you purposely lost his papers that would allow him to be released and violated his civil rights. Another time you brought him in for questioning on some trumped up reason and you turned the thermostat up to 90 degrees just to make him uncomfortable. You've also harrassed Jason Morgan, a good friend of Mr. Corinthos' in an attempt to get at him. So is it too far a stretch to think you'd manufacture evidence against my client so you could finally satisy your vendetta against him? Dara:Objection! Justus:Your honor, it's a well-known fact this man has a personal vendetta against my client and that he's never been above using his job to satisfy it. Detective Taggert is convinced that Mr. Corinthos killed his stepfather, who also happened to be Taggert's mentor, eventhough he's aware Mr. Corinthos has an iron-clad alibi proving he had nothing to do with his stepfather's death. And I recently discovered Detective Taggert's vendetta goes a lot deeper than anyone has suspected before. You see, Mr. Corinthos' stepfather wasn't just Detective Taggert's mentor, he was also Detective Taggert's biological father. Judge:Objection over-ruled, but watch yourself, Mr. Ward. Justus:Isn't it true, Detective Taggert, that while Deke, the best cop you ever knew, was raising Mr. Corinthos as his son, he was blatantly neglecting you, his real son. In fact, he completely ignored you while you were growing up, didn't he? Taggert:Deke loved me. It was Corithos' fault that he didn't have time for me. Corinthos was such a handful as a child, that he took up all of Deke's time and there wasn't any left for me. Deke wanted to spend time with me, and it's Corinthos' fault he wasn't able to. But when I got in trouble Deke was there for me and he helped straighten me out. Justus:Did you ever think the real reason Deke helped you wasn't because he cared about you, but because someone might have learned you were his son and he didn't want your behavior to reflect badly on him? Taggert:That's a lie. Deke loved me! Justus:I bet everytime Deke missed a birthday or spent his holidays with my client, your jealousy and hatred of Sonny Corinthos grew until you ate, slept and breathed it. And now finally after all these years you can finally make Sonny Corinthos pay for your father's neglect. But since you couldn't do it legally, tell me, Detective Taggert, did you take my clients gun and shoot Carla Solieto, yourself, all so you'd be able to frame my client and arrest him for a crime you committed, yourself? Dara:Objection! Judge:Mr. Ward, you go too far. Justus:No further questions. I'm through with this witness. Judge(addresses the jury)You are to disregard Mr. Ward's last question to the witness. Justus(as he sits down next to Sonny)He can tell them to disregard it until he's blue in the face, but I've planted a seed of doubt in their mind. Now all we have to do is make sure we cultivate it. Weird thought: What if Brenda's mother was also Lily's and she's come back to avenge Lily by making old Brender's life miserable? ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
