Port Charles Municipal Court: Bailiff:All rise. The honorable Judge Howard Rollins presiding. You may all be seated. Judge:What case do I have before me? Dara:The state of New York versus Michael Corinthos Jr. in the crime of attempted murder against one Carla Solieto. Judge:Present your case. Dara:Mr. Corinthos mislead Ms. Solieto into a fraudulent marriage. When she discovered this, she wanted revenge and played a video tape she made of Mr. Corinthos and his real wife, Lois Cerullo, making love at a press party for Deception at the Outback. Afterwards, Mr. Corinthos was heard by several people making threats against her life and later that evening someone shot Ms. Solieto. Then gun used to shoot her is registered to Mr. Corinthos. And Ms. Solieto's blood was found on Mr. Corinthos' jacket. Judge:Mr. Corinthos, please rise. How do you plead in the matter? Sonny:Not guilty, your honor. Judge:So noted. Recommendations for bail? Dara;I recommend bail be denied, your honor. Mr. Corinthos is a flight risk. Justus:Your honor that's absolutely ridiculous. Mr. Corinthos has ties to this community. He runs a talent agency with his wife and a nightclub with Luke Spencer. He and his wife are also going to have a baby. And Ms. Cerullo and Mr. Corinthos are about to be involved in a custody battle with Ms. Cerullo's former husband, Ned Ashton. There's also the fact that during Mr. Corinthos' previous scrapes with the law he never ran. He stayed to face the charges. Judge:So noted. Bail granted. Dara:Your honor, if you insist of letting him run free, then I insist that bail be set at a high amount. Judge:So noted. Bail is set at five million dollars. This court is adjourned. Jason:I'll go and pay the bailiff then we can get out of here. Sonny:Thanks, Jason.(he turns to Lois)You've been awfully quiet, Lois, is something wrong? Lois:What could be wrong, Sonny? We both spent the night in jail, but luckily, the police decided only to charge you with a crime and not to charge me with being your accomplice. There's also the fact Brooke had to watch us both get arrested. Tell me, Sonny, is this the way our life is going to be from now on? The police showing up and carting me down to the police station with you simply because I have the misfortune to be married to you? Wyndemere: Mrs. Lansbury:Mr. Jacks sent some more flowers. What should I do with them? Stefan:Dispose of them as you've done with the others. Bobbie(enters)Stefan, I need to talk to you. Stefan:Excellent timing, Barbara, I need to talk to you, too. How much longer are you going to continue to encourage Jerry Jacks in his attentions to you? Bobbie:Excuse me? Stefan:Barbara, I'm sick of Mr. Jacks daily flower delivery. In fact, it's beginning to seriously annoy me. Bobbie:And you blame me for this? Stefan:If you wouldn't encouragea him he'd give up. Tell me, when you were visiting at the Jack's penthouse, did you have sex with him for old time's sake. Bobbie:You're having me followed again? Stefan:I find it's wise to have someone report back to me your activities considering your proven unreliability and trustworthiness. Bobbie:In case it's slipped your mind, Stefan, Jerry now lives at the Brownstone. If I wanted to have a quickie with him, I would have went to him there, not his brother's apartment. Stefan:Then why did you go to the Jacks' penthouse? Bobbie:So I could get this.(she throws down a picture of a teenage Jerry on Stefan's desk like a gauntlet)It's a picture of Jerry when he was eighteen. Stefan:(sneers)How touching. You wanted a picture of your lothario when he was younger to keep under your pillow at night and to dream on. How juvenile. Bobbie(throws another photo down on his desk)And here's one of you at the same age. Stefan:What is all this about, Barbara? Bobbie:(takes a picture of herself out and hands it to him)And here's a picture of myself as a teenager. Recognize me? Stefan(takes a cursory look at it)Why would I? Bobbie:Take a better look, Stefan. You remember visiting a Florida whorehouse on your eighteeth birthday?(he looks down at the photo and there's sudden recognition in his eyes)That's right, Stefan, I'm the whore you had sex with that night. Stefan:How old were you? Bobbie:Fifteen. I also slept with Jerry Jacks that same night, as well. That's also the night I got pregnant with Carly. Stefan:Barbara, what are you saying? Bobbie:That either you of Jerry is Carly's father. Stefan:And you kept it from me all this time? Bobbie:No, I just found out about it, myself. That's why Ruby wanted to see me. Stefan:No, this isn't true. That viper isn't the fruit of my loins. She isn't the blood of my blood. Bobbie:Well, there's a fifty-fifty chance you're right and as soon as we get a paternity test done, we'll know for sure. Stefan:You don't expect me to subject myself to that indignity, do you? Bobbie:I suppose it's really not necessary. All we really need is for Carly and Jerry to be tested to see if their father and daughter. Stefan:You intend telling Mr. Jacks about this? I won't permit it! Bobbie:You have no choice in the matter. This isn't up to you. Carly wants to know who her father is and she has a right to know. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go and tell Jerry he may be a daddy. Stefan(as Bobbie exits)Come back here, Barbara, this instant. I won't permit this! Sonny and Lois' Penthouse: Sonny(and Lois enter)Shall we continue the conversation we began at the courthouse? Lois:Ned came to visit me while I was in jail. He said if I leave you, he'll drop the custody suit. Sonny:Did you agree to do it? Lois:No, but Ned made some valid points. As much as I love Ned, I left him for Brooke's sake. And as much as I love you, I dn't think I can raise my children with a father whose in constant trouble with the law. Sonny:Lois, I didn't ask to be implicated in Carla's shooting. You know I had nothing to do with it. Lois:Maybe you wouldn't have been implicated if you'd been honest and called the police when we first found Carla. By leaving the scene of a crime you only made yourself look more guilty. Sonny:Look, Cerullo, I wouldn't start throwing blame around if I were you. I wasn't the one who made a deal with Tracy Quartermaine, which is what brought Carla into our lives to begin with. Lois:I did that to save your life. Sonny:Well, I'd rather be dead than to have to be locked up in some tiny little jail cell. Thanks for nothing! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
