Jerry's Apartment, the Brownstone:
Jerry(opens the door to his lab tech friend)Hello, Linda.
Linda(enters)What do you want from me now, Mr. Jacks.
Jerry:What makes you think I want something from you.
Linda:Because you don't call unless you want something. I wish I'd never 
lied to Stefan Cassadine about him not being Carly Roberts father. But I 
saw the way Stefan Cassadine treated Carly Roberts and it reminded me of 
the way my own father treats me. Then there was you wanting to be a real 
father to her eventhough you weren't and I saw how good you were with 
Carly Roberts so I thought if I had a choice, I'd rather have you for a 
father, myself, so I lied that you were the father. But that wasn't the 
end of it. Then you told Katherine Bell what I did and sent her to me so 
I could fake some pregnancy tests for her and when I refused to do it, 
she blackmailed me into doing it by telling me if I didn't she'd go to 
Stefan Cassadine and tell him what I did.
Jerry:I've been thinking. It wasn't right what I asked you to do. It's 
like I've stolen Stefan Cassadine's child from him. So I think we need 
to undo what we did.
Linda:Just what are you saying.
Jerry:I want you to go to Stefan Cassadine and tell him he's really 
Carly Roberts father.
Linda:What! Are you insane. You want me to go to a man like Stefan 
Cassadine and tell him I lied about the results of the paternity test.
Jerry:No, of course not. I don't think there's any need for anyone to 
even know you and I were behind the paternity test mix-up. What I had in 
mind was for you to go to Stefan Cassadine and tell him there was a lab 
mix-up.
Linda:And what if he investigates and finds out there was no lab mix-up.
Jerry:I think it's a risk we need to take. And think about it. Once the 
truth is out, I or anyone else will no longer have a hold over you since 
the truth will be out.

Sonny and Lois' Penthouse:
Lois(as Jason enters)Did Alan agree to do it?
Jason:Yeah, he did, but as it turns out we may not have to. Carla's 
finally come out of her coma. She's awake and talking.
Lois:Is that good news or bad.
Jason:With Carla, who knows. She could either tell the truth that it was 
Brenda who shot her or lie that it was Sonny when she learns he's been 
arrested for shooting her.
Lois:What are we going to do is she lies.
Jason:We'll go with the original plan. Alan will say Sonny's in 
quarantine with the measles and no one will be allowed into the 
apartment which will give us enough time to find Sonny and Brenda and to 
make Brenda come forward and admit the truth.
Lois:And if Carla tells the truth.
Jason:We'll tell the truth. That  Sonny and Brenda are missing and 
they'll start looking for them.
Lois:So in effect if Carla lies we lie and if Carla tells the truth we 
tell the truth.
Jason:In a nutshell. The balls in Carla's court. Alan promised to tell 
me what happened since he'll be in the room with Carla when Taggert 
questions her.

Carla's Room, General Hospital:
Alan:Carla, this is Detective Taggert. He's like to ask you some 
questions about who shot you. Do you think you're up to it?
Carla:I'm just fine, Dr. Quartermaine, and I want the person who shot me 
to pay for what they did.
Taggert:As do I, Ms. Solieto, as do I.
Carla:That's Mrs. Morgan. Mrs. Jason Morgan.(she looks around)Speaking 
of which, just were is my devoted husband, anyway.
Taggert:He hasn't visited you once while you were in the hospital.
Carla:Oh, really. I'll have to talk to him about that, won't I.
Taggert:Are you aware your ex-husband, Sonny Corinthos, has been 
arrested for shooting you and as we speak he's being tried for his 
heinous crime against you.
Carla:No, I wasn't aware of that. I've been in a coma so I'm a bit out 
of touch with current events. Mikey's been put on trial for shooting me. 
You don't say. Really.
Taggert:Yes, really, and if, you, the victim could verify it was 
Corinthos who you, there's be no way he could squirm out of this mess, 
this time.
Carla:You really don't like Mikey, do you, Detective Taggert.
Taggert:No more than you do, Mrs. Morgan.
Carla(sighs)Then I'm afraid I'm about to disappoint you. You see, it 
wasn't Mikey who shot me, It was Mikey's bimbo who pulled the trigger.
Taggert:(with glee)It was his wife, Lois Cerullo? Well, that's even 
better.
Carla:Again, I must disappoint you. No, it was Mikey's other bimbo, 
Brenda Barrett. She's the one who shot me.
Taggert:Brenda Barrett! Are you sure you're not confused. That it wasn't 
really Corinthos.
Carla:Afraid not. Before she shot me, Brenda Barrett was ranting and 
raving aboaut how I ruined her life. That because of me she didn't have 
anyone, anymore. You know that time of woman, detective. They just can't 
live without a man. She even blamed me for the fact that her husband, 
Jax,  got another woman pregnant. She said I didn't deserve to live. 
Then I dared her to pull the trigger. I didn't think she had the guts to 
do it. But as you can see, she did.
Taggert;Thank you, Mrs. Morgan. If you'll excuse me, I'll go inform ADA 
Jensen about this new development and she can arrange for the charges 
against Corinthos to be dropped and for Brenda Barrett to be 
arrested.(he exits)
Alan:I'll leave to and let you get some rest.(he exits, too)
Carla(stretches like a cat and smiles)I'm so sorry to disappoint you, 
Detective Taggert, but I have plans for Mikey and they don't include him 
going to prison. And now that I've met you, I may also have plans for 
you too, Detective Taggert.
