Tammy's Room, Kelly's Diner:
Tammy(opens the door to Luke)Long time no see, stranger.
Luke(walks into her arms and kisses her)I've missed this.
Tammy:You know, you didn't have to stay away for the weeks Sonny and 
Brenda were living here. Sunshine would have kept his mouth shut about 
us.
Luke:Sonny wasn't the problem. Brenda couldn't keep a secret if her 
life depended on it.
Tammy:I thought maybe the reason you were staying away because things 
were getting better between you and Laura.
Luke:You know, once upon a time Laura and I had something that only 
comes around once in a life time if you're lucky enough to find it. 
But it's gone and there's no getting it back. The trust is gone and 
there's just no getting it back. Our entire marriage was one long lie. 
She had a child she never told me about. When Cassadine arrived in 
town, she kept secret her real relationship with him. And I lost count 
of the times I caught her sneaking behind my back to meet with him. 
There's just no going back after all that.
Tammy:If that's the way you feel, why are you still living with Laura.
Luke:Tammy, Laura and I haven't slept together since she came back 
from North Carolina.
Tammy:Even if you had, it's really none of my business. I'm the other 
woman, remember.
Luke:You're a whole lot more than that. You're the woman who helped me 
put my shattered life back together. You're my safe port in a world 
that's gone mad.
Tammy:So, just how is it going between you and Laura these days.
Luke:Laura got a job, today.
Tammy:And the significance of that is?
Luke:I moved back home because Laura was starting to lose it. That's 
the reason I've stayed. Because I was afraid if I left again, she 
might start wigging out on me, again. But now I can see her getting 
stronger everyday. Her going out and getting herself a job is proof of 
that. And once I feel she's strong enough to handles it, I'm going to 
suggest to her that we get a divorce.
Tammy:Are you really sure you want to do that? Maybe it's not too late 
for you and Laura to get back what you've lost. From what everyone 
says, you and Laura had this great love, perhaps it's not dead, but 
merely asleep.
Luke:We did, but even the greatest love in the world can be destroyed. 
And once it is, you can never really get back what you've lost. 
No, ending my marriage is the right thing to do and I will when the 
time is right.

The Brownstone:
Brenda(as Sonny enters)I understand you were over visiting Carly, 
again. You just can't stay away from her, can you?
Sonny:Brenda, AJ is trying to take custody of Michael away from Carly, 
again. I had to go over and see her to see if there was anything I 
could do to stop it from happening.
Brenda:Why do you feel the need to help her. I'm sure Carly is more 
than capable of fighting her own battles with AJ without any help from 
you.
Sonny:Carly needed me last time she went up against AJ. That's why I 
married her, remember.
Brenda:I wish I could forget. So what did you two come up with? 
Anything?
Sonny:Has AJ subpoenaed you to testify at the custody hearing, yet?
Brenda:Yes, he hand-delivered it to me, this afternoon.
Sonny:You know why he wants you to testify at the hearing, don't you? 
He wants you to tell the court I only married Carly so she would win 
the custody case.
Brenda:Which I'll have to say, since you told me as soon as Carly was 
granted permanent custody you intended to divorce her.
Sonny:But if you take a look at my marriage to Carly it doesn't really 
matter why I married her because our marriage became a real one with 
love on both sides, so you couldn't really say it was a marriage in 
name only because it became a marriage in every sense of the word.
Brenda:Please don't remind me.
Sonny:In fact, when you're on the witness stand and AJ's lawyer asks 
you about my marriage to Carly, you could tell Alexis Davis it was a 
real marriage.
Brenda:Sonny, are you suggesting I lie?
Sonny:It's not like it would be the first time you didn't tell the 
whole truth. Besides, it wouldn't really be a lie. Carly and I did 
have a real marriage.
Brenda:I'm not going to commit perjury for Carly Benson. If she wasn't 
such a tramp, AJ wouldn't have a case against her and you would have 
never had to marry her in the first place.
Sonny:The Quartermaines paid all those men to lie about having sex 
with her.
Brenda:But it wasn't a lie about the disgraceful way she carried on 
with you at Jake's. I heard all about the tape the Q's have of you and 
Carly.
Sonny:Look, all Carly has is Michael. The least we owe her is to make 
sure she doesn't lose Michael.
Brenda:Why do I hear the sound of Carly's voice in that statement. 
That's what she told you, isn't it? That we owe it to her to lie for 
her in court because you left her for me. Sonny, we don't owe her a 
damn thing. Least of all to lie for her.

Helena's Yacht:
Helena(as Carly enters)You look very pleased with yourself, my 
darling.
Carly:AJ had done it, again, Grandmother. The little troll has 
subpoenaed both Sonny and Brenda to testify for him at the custody 
hearing. Sonny came by to tell me and I suggested he try to get Brenda 
to lie at the custody hearing.
Helena:Will she?
Carly:Of course not. The selfish little slut wouldn't lift a finger to 
help me if I were saying on the sidewalk dying. And when she refuses 
it should cause plenty of trouble between the happy couple. 
Grandmother, you were so right. It's so much more fun slowly leading 
up to a revelation of a big secret than just blurting out. It makes 
the revelations so much more satisfying.
Helena:I told you, my dear, I told you.

Outside Dr. Gate's Office, San Remos:
Robert(and Anna sitting in their car watching the place)Well, I 
suppose we should go in.
Anna(places her hand over Robert's to stop him from opening his 
door)Robert, let's just wait a few more minutes.
Robert:Anna, you're the one who insisted we had to know the truth.
Anna:Now I'm having second thoughts. Robert, I just have this bad 
feeling if we go inside it'll change everything we've ever believed.
Robert:Anner, whatever it is, we'll get through it together just like 
we have everything else life has thrown at us.(he holds her hand and 
kisses it)Remember. Together...forever...
Anna:...and beyond that. (she takes a deep breath)All right, let's 
just get this over with. (still holding hands they climb out of the 
car and head inside to Dr. Gates office).
