Wyndemere:
Stefan(as Brenda enters)Mrs. Lansbury told me you were here to see me. I'm 
so glad to see you.
Brenda:You can thank Sonny for me being here. He urged me to come to you and 
hear what you have to say. For starters, how and when did you find out I was 
your daughter.
Stefan:I guess it all began when I ran into Roberta Anderson at the Port 
Charles Grille.
Brenda:Who is Roberta Anderson.
Stefan:She was my first love and she's your natural mother.
Brenda:Veronica Barrett isn't really my mother?
Stefan:No, after you were born, Roberta gave you up for adoption to the 
Barretts(he takes out her birth records and hands it to her)I, of course, 
verified her story. Your birth records contain two birth certificates, one 
naming the Barretts your parents and the other naming Roberta and I.
Brenda:But it says my father's name is Cass Stephens.
Stefan:That's the name I used when I knew Roberta. Brenda, I know this must 
all come as a shock to you, but if you'd just give me a change I want to be 
a real father to you. You're probably the only child of my own that I'll 
ever have.

Helena's Yacht:
Carly(storms in)Is it true!
Helena(sipping tea)Is what true, my dear?
Carly:Is Brenda Barrett really my father's daughter? God, it's not bad 
enough she's trying to steal my husband from me, now the bitch is stealing 
my father away from me, as well.
Helena:Caroline, please calm down.
Carly:No, I won't calm down. You just tell me if it's true or not.
Helena:I'm afraid so, my dear. I, of course, had no idea the Barrett 
creature was also Stefan's daughter. And I can't believe he's trying to be a 
father to her while he won't even acknowledge your existence.
Carly:I know you've hinted Stefan knows I'm his daughter, but maybe he 
doesn't. Maybe I should go to him and tell him I'm his daughter, too.
Helena:And have him reject you and tell you the only daughter he wants to be 
a father to is Brenda Barrett.
Carly:What makes you so sure he knows I'm his daughter and he wants nothing 
to do with me.
Helena:Caroline, how could he not know. He must have realized long ago that 
your mother was his first love, Roberta Anderson.
Carly:I don't know about that. If my mother knew Stefan Cassadine was really 
Cass Stephens I'm sure she would have told me he's my father.
Helena:Not if Stefan asked her not to. She wouldn't tell you if she knew 
your father wanted nothing to do with you. She'd want to protect you from 
that knowledge. Caroline, just forget about Stefan. Let Brenda Barrett have 
him. You don't need him, you have me.

Robert and Anna's Apartment, the Brownstone:
Anna(and Robert enter)Well that went well, didn't it?
Robert:At least Robin and Nikolas haven't slept together. We find out in 
time and warned them before they committed incest.
Anna:Only because Robin has HIV. HIV! Robert, how could this have happened 
to our little girl? We taught her about the dangers of unsafe sex. So how 
could she go ahead and have sex without using a condom or demanding this boy 
have an HIV test?
Robert:Maybe it wouldn't have happened if we'd have been here.
Anna:We thought we were protecting her from the danger that's always 
surrounding us by staying out of her life, only for Robin to be exposed to a 
whole other kind of danger that could one day end up killing her. Robert, I 
can't deal with his now. I don't have the emotional energy left to deal with 
our child having HIV. I've just had too much thrown at me to handle this on 
top of everything else.
Robert:I know, I feel the exact same way. Ever since we ran into Luke in San 
Remos, it's been one thing after another. First, we thought Robin wasn't 
really our child, but now we know she is. Then we found out Helena and 
Faison stole our first born son from us and passed him off as a Cassadine. 
Next, we were afraid Robin and Nikolas might have been intimate without 
being aware they were really brother and sister. Now this. We've just had 
too much thrown at us that we've become insensate to it. I should be feeling 
something over the discovery that our daughter has HIV, but it's just one 
more thing of a long line of other things that have been thrown at us, 
lately, and I don't have the emotional reserves to even deal with it at the 
moment. Emotionally, I'm totally numb.
Anna:I know what you mean. And when Nikolas finds out we're his parents, 
we'll have to deal with him, as well. Robert, is this ever going to stop. 
Are we ever going to be able to get back to living a normal life, again?
Robert:Yes, it'll stop as soon as we put Helena and Faison where they 
belong. Where they can't hurt anyone else, ever again. That's what we've got 
to concentrate on now. Nailing Faison and Helena and getting them off the 
street for good. As for the rest of it, we'll just have to deal with it, 
later, when we're up to dealing with it all, emotionally.

The Brownstone:
Sonny(as Brenda enters)So how did it go with Cassadine?
Brenda:He said he wants to be a father to me. I think he meant it. Do you 
know how long I've wanted to hear my father say those words to me.  Only I 
thought it would be Harlan Barrett who would say those things to me, not 
Stefan Cassadine.
Sonny:Did he explain to you just how he found out he was your father?
Brenda:Yes, he ran into an old girlfriend of his at the Port Charles Grille. 
Her name is Roberta Anderson. Baby, you're not going to believe this. She's 
my real mother, not that awful Veronica Barrett. Baby, do you now what this 
means to me? I'll never have to worry again that I've inherited her insanity 
ever again.
Sonny:Stefan Cassadine met Roberta Anderson at the Port Charles Grille?
Brenda:Yes, isn't that an incredible coincidence? Stefan told me the whole 
story of how they met. It's so romantic. Stefan was in Florida on spring 
break when he met my mother, only he told her his name was Cass Stephens and 
they fell in love. Only his mother didn't approve and forced him to break-up 
with her. I've never like Helena Cassadine and now I know why. It wasn't 
until after the break-up that Roberta realized she was pregnant with me, but 
she couldn't afford to raise me all by herself so she gave me up for 
adoption to the Barretts. Isn't that something.
Sonny:Oh, yes, it's something, all right. It's something else.
