Kevin's Office:
Sonny:Why did you want to have this session alone with me, Dr. Collins?
Kevin:It's some times helpful in couple therapy to meet with one-half of the couple one-on-one. Carly has made it pretty clear that she's crazy about you and would love nothing more than to stay married to you. I thought perhaps without Carly present you might open up a bit more.
Sonny:About what?
Kevin:About your true feelings. I've gotten the feeling you feel compelled to make clear to Carly your future lays with Brenda because Brenda is pregnant.
Sonny:Well, it's the truth. My future lays with Brenda and our unborn child. How else should I act.
Kevin:But by doing that you're not opening up to me about whatever feelings you may have for Carly. So, in this session I want you to forget about Carly being the mother of your child and Brenda being pregnant with your child. I want you to talk to me openly about your feelings for both these women. Let's start with Brenda, first. Tell me how you feel about Brenda.
Sonny:How do I feel about Brenda? Brenda is alternately the best thing and at times the worst thing to ever happen to me. At times, I've been happier that I've ever thought was humanly possible and at other times I've been so miserable I just thought I wanted to curl-up and die. I guess you could say my relationship with Brenda is one of extremes. The highest highs and the lowest lows you could ever possibly imagine. When things are going good between us it's like being on top of the world, but when things start going wrong it's like a fast-track to hell. When I think about what my life was life before Brenda, I can no longer remember a time when I haven't been in love with her.
Kevin:Now tell me about your relationship with Carly.
Sonny:Carly is crazy. You couldn't even imagine the things this woman had done to hang on to me. She's poked holes in my condoms. She slipped Viagra into my drinks. But maybe I'm just as crazy as she is because no matter what kind of outrageous stunt she pulls on me, deep down there's a part of me that always understands why she did it.
Kevin:You don't seem upset by the stunts Carly's pulled on you. Most men would be.
Sonny:Don't get me wrong. Believe me, I was furious when I found out. I wanted to strangle her. But when I needed someone the most, Carly was there for me. If Carly hadn't been there for me when Moreno tricked me into thinking I'd been exposed to AIDS, I think I might hae ended up killing myself.
Kevin:Tell me about the first time you and Carly met.
Sonny:But Carly and I already did.
Kevin:I know, but I'd like you to tell me how you were feeling that night you walked into Jake's Pool Hall and first met Carly.
Sonny:Betrayed. I was feeling betrayed by Brenda. She had no doubt in her mind that her precious Golden Boy would be trying to smuggle drugs, but she couldn't return the favor for me. She thought I planted drugs on him to make him look bad in her eyes so she'd dump him and pick me over him. She once again proved when it mattered the most that what I've always said about her is true. She never really knew or understand me.
Kevin:Then you met Carly.
Sonny:Yeah, then I met Carly.
Kevin:When you decided to sleep with Carly was it in the back of your mind that you could pay Brenda back for her betrayal and lack of faith in you by betraying her with Carly?
Sonny:Truthfully, I was having such a good time with Carly, I didn't even give Brenda a thought. If I had, I doubt I would have ended up having sex with Carly that night.
Kevin:You're in love with Carly, too, aren't you?
Sonny:I didn't plan for it to happen. I tried so hard to fall in love with Lily when I was married to her, but it just wouldn't happen. But with Carly it happened without me even have to try. It totally snuck up on me. I was in love with her before I was even aware of it, myself.
Kevin:You say Brenda doesn't really know or understand you? Do you have the same problem with Carly.
Sonny:No, just the opposite in fact. She understands me a little too well. I can tell Carly anything no matter how bad it is and she'll immediately understand me and why I did it. It's weird. Half the time I barely even understand myself and yet there's times Carly and I will look into each other's eyes and have these moments of perfect understanding of each other.
Kevin:Okay, I'm going to end this session, here. But before I let you leave, there's something I want you to think about. If there were no Michael and Brenda wasn't pregnant with your child. If it was just your feelings for Brenda and Carly involved. Would Brenda still be the one you'd choose to be with or would you still be with Carly.

Robert and Anna's Apartment, The Brownstone:
Anna:Brenda Barrett's birth records finally came in. You're not going to believe this, Robert. There's two birth certificates in her file. One saying Veronica and Harlan Barrett are her parents and another saying her parents are Roberta Anderson and Cass Stephens.
Robert:Cass Stephens...Stefan Cassadine.
Anna:It has to be. This is just further proof that Bobbie's "Cass" is Stefan Cassadine. So, Veronica Barrett is pretending to be Brenda's birth mother, Roberta Anderson. It explains why she's so afraid that Stefan telling Brenda he's her father will facillitate a meeting between her and Brenda. Brenda will naturally want to meet her birth mother face-to-face and once she does she'll be able to reveal that Veronica isn't really Roberta Anderson.
Robert:But wouldn't Stefan Cassadine realize she's not really this Roberta Anderson.
Anna:It was a long time ago, Robert. People's physical appearance changes over time as they grow older. But we've got an even bigger question on our hands. Is it just a coincidence that Stefan Cassadine pretended to be Cass Stephens with two different women, Bobbie and this Roberta Anderson and got them both pregnant with his children and that both women gave their daughters up for adoption and now both daughters are living in the same town. Port Charles?
Robert:I'm getting that feeling again that there's something not right about this scenario.
Anna:Here's another coincidence for you to try on, Robert. The fact that Bobbie's Aunt Ruby and this Roberta Anderson just happen to share the same last name.
Robert:And here's another coincidence for you. Roberta is the feminine version for the name Robert. And some people named Robert go  by the name Bob or Bobby.
Anna;Robert, do you know what we're suggesting here? That Roberta Andeson and Bobbie Spencer are one and the same person.
