Sonny and Brenda's Apartment, The Brownstone: Brenda(standing in her bra and panties examining herself sideways in front of the mirror)Baby? Sonny(is laying on the bed on his stomach thumbing through a book)Mmm? Brenda:Baby, I think the baby's finally starting to show. Sonny(not paying any attention)That's nice, sweetheart. Brenda:Sonny, will you pay attention to me. Sonny(looks up)What? Brenda:Just what are you looking at that you're finding so fascinating. Sonny:It's a class schedule for PC University. Brenda:College? Sonny:Yeah, college. I don't want to spend the rest of my life waiting tables at Kelly's. I'm good with numbers. If I could get a degree in accounting, I could make something of myself. I could start up my own accounting business. Brenda:(sits down next to him on the bed and runs her fingers through his hair)Baby, you could probably do that now without having to go to school to get some silly old degree. You're experienced in doing the books. Sonny:Yeah, I'm sure people will be lined up to hire me when they hear about the creative bookkeeping skills I developed when I was laundering money for the mob. Brenda:Well, what about Luke. He can vouch for how good you are with numbers. Sonny:That's even better. The current godfather of the mob giving me references. Brenda:The what? You're joking, right? Sonny:Nope, Luke decided after the number Moreno pulled on me, he shouldn't be allowed to take advantage of the new operation I'd set up, so Luke tok it over. Benny tells me they boys are real happy with Luke leading them. Of course, Moreno isn't too happy, but he hasn't tried to retaliate, yet. You were saying something about the baby, before? Brenda:(jumps up off the bed, then stands sideways)See? Sonny:What am I supposed to be looking at? Brenda:It's the baby. I'm finally showing. See? Sonny:I'm sorry, but I don't see anything, yet. Brenda:Look, again. See? Sonny:Brenda, I know you're anxious to start showing, but you've got to be patient and just let it happen when it happens. Brenda(goes back in front of the mirror to examine herself, again)But I was so sure I was showing.(there's a rapping at the door. Brenda goes to answer it. It's Carly)What do you want? Carly:I just came to give Sonny a message, Twiggy. We have our first court-appointed marriage counseling session in the morning.(she looks past Brenda to Sonny)I was wondering if you'd drive me over there. Sonny:Sure. Carly:Thank you.(Carly looks Brenda up and down derisively)I'll be going now. You can get back to whatever it is you were doing. Wyndemere: Luke(enters)All right, Bobbie, why did you as me to come over here. Bobbie:I think Stefan is cheating on me. Luke:Already? Boy, he didn't even wait until you were married, this time. Bobbie:Do you have any idea who it is? Luke:Why would you think that I would know. Bobbie:You knew about Stefan and Katherine Bell before I did. Luke:Well, I don't have a clue who it could be, this time. If I knew the Bat was stepping out on you, you'd have been the first one to know.(the phone suddenly rings) Bobbie(answers it)Hello? Veronica:Can I speak with Stefan, please? Bobbie:Who are you?(she hears a click in her ear. Then she looks at Luke)It was her, again. Luke:Who? Bobbie:I wish I knew. She keeps calling late at night asking to speak to Stefan, but when I ask her who she is, she hangs up without telling me. Helena's Yacht: Helena(smiles as Veronica hangs up the phone)That was very well done, my dear. I don't care how secure a woman is in her relationship with her man, when she hears a strange woman's voice on the phone asking to speak to her man, she'll get suspicious. Veronica:Helena, did I tell you that Stefan has given me a job at Deception. He didn't want me to leave Port Charles, so he wanted to give me a reason to stay. He wants us to get to know our daughter before we tell her we're her parents. Helena:How nice of Stefan. You're enjoying being Roberta Anderson, aren't you? It's just too bad you can't be her, permanently. Veronica:Is there any reason why I can't. Helena:Well, for starters, there's Bobbie Spencer, who just so happens to be the real Roberta Anderson. But if she never learned about Stefan's identity as Cass Stephen's, I doubt she'd ever really connect the dots and realize you were pretending to be her. Unfortunately, the real problem is your daughter, Brenda. She'd be your biggest threat to continuing to be Robert Anderson. You said Stefan wants you and him to get to know "your daughter" better before telling her you're her parents. But, alas, if the day even occurs that your daughter, Brenda, comes face-to-face with you and Stefan introduces you to her as Roberta Anderson, she'll be able to tell Stefan that you're really Veronica Barrett. Which, of course, will make Stefan realize everything you've told him is a lie. And, after that, Stefan will no longer be so nice to you, I can assure you. Faison:Veronica, why don't you go to my stateroom and wait for me.(he waits until she exits the room before he turns to Helena)All right, Helena, what are you up to? Helena:I'm beginning to come to a conclusion about Sonny Corinthos. As long as Brenda Barrett is alive, I don't think he'll ever leave her because she's pregnant with his child, even if he realizes it's Caroline he truly belongs with. So, the Barrett Creature needs to be removed, only I can't be connected with it. When Veronica first came to town, she was gunning for her daughter, until we got our hands on her and gave her a new goal to focus on. I'm just trying to refocus her on her original goal and make her think if she gets rid of her daughter she can continue to be Roberta Anderson and all that entails. Faison:Sonny Corinthos and Brenda Barrett are both aware that Veronica is a threat and they're on their guard. I doubt Veronica could even get close enough to harm Brenda Barrett, even if she wanted to. Helena:Actually, from the reports I've been getting from the men I have watching them, they've already dropped their guards because Veronica hasn't tried anything up to now. Mr. Corinthos has started leaving his paramour alone and Miss Barrett has even resumed her normal life and is going out and about by herself. So, if Veronica was to make a move on her daughter, I doubt she'd have any problem in succeeding. You know, Faison, at the last Bacchanalian Ball held at Wyndemere, poor Katherine Bell "died". Perhaps at this one, Brenda Barrett will be the victim of foul play.
