The Brownstone: Carly(as everyone stares at her)What? I was just curious how old Katherine was. Why are you all looking at me like I killed the cat or something?(the doorbell rings) Bobbie:I'll go get that. (she opens the door to Jax and Brenda) Jax(as he and Brenda enter)Bobbie, I'm sorry we're so late. Brender and I had to stop by the jewelry store on our way here so I could pick her out a new engagement ring.(he takes Brenda's hand and rushes into the living room, while Bobbie goes to answer the ringing telephone)Everyone, I've got an announcement to make.(he gives Sonny a smug look)Brender has agreed that we should finally get married. Carly(sees that nobody's going to say anything)Well, isn't that wonderful. When is the big day. Jax:We haven't really decided on the date, yet, but it'll be really soon. But first the caterers have to be called, printers have to print up the invitations and a designer has to design the perfect wedding gown for me Brender. Carly:And just when did you and Brender decide to get married. Was it before the Quartermaine party? Jax:No, Brender just agreed, tonight. Carly:Did she really. Did you hear that, Sonny. Brender, here, agreed to marry Jax "after" the Quartermaine party. Isn't that interesting. Sonny:I heard. Congratulations. May you both get exactly what you deserve. Each other. Bobbie(enters)That was Jason on the phone. He and Robin won't be able to make it, tonight. Carly:This evening just keeps getting better and better. Bobbie:Well, since dinner's ready, why don't we all go into the dining room and eat. Stefan(takes Bobbie's arm to escort her)I can't believe the man making a big announcement over that. Bobbie:Stefan, he's just happy. Stefan;Yes, but how many times has he planned to try to marry that little frou-frou doll for it not to happen in the end. Bobbie:I don't know. I lost count after the third time. Stefan:Well, I supposed we could always go over and count jow many engagement rings he's given her. That was a new engagement ring she was wearing, wasn't it? Bobbie:Yes, he said he bought it for her on the way here. Kat(watching Stefan and Bobbie heading into the dining room, enviously)I wonder what's up with those two. Nik:Katherine, are you all right. Carly was completely out of line in what she said to you. I've got a good mind to go over to Sonny Corinthos and tell him to put a muzzle on his wife. Kat(looking at Carly)It's all right, Nikolas. Besides, I know who put her up to it and that person will be dealt with, I can assure you. Carly:Sonny, you do know what this means, don't you. Let's just go into dinner, all right.(he heads into the dining room) Carly:(smiles at his departing back)Oh, Brenda, you're making this easy for me. Right now, Sonny's mad enough to spit. I sure wouldn't want to be in your shoes, right now.(she follows him into the dining room) The Cottage: Jason(slams the phone down)I hope you're happy. I told Bobbie we couldn't make it, tonight. Robin:Well, excuse me, if I don't feel like sitting down to a nice dinner after finding out you want to be the head of the mob, again. Jason:Sonny had no right to tell you. Robin:I'm glad he did. I let it go when he told me you approached him about working for him, again. But I can't now that I know you want to lead them, again. Jason:You didn't mind being with me before when I was head of the mob. Robin:That's because I thought you'd eventually realize that's not the kind of life you want and you did. Jason:Well, the kind of life I realize I don't want is this. Robin:Jason, if you go back, I won't be going back with you. I almost died because of the mob. I have a disease that could one day kill me. Every day of my life is precious to m e. Too precious to waste it on taking the chance of being robbed of one extra day I have by one of you enemies trying to blow me up of shoot me. Jason:Just what are you saying. Robin:If you choose the mob over me, again, that's it for us. I won't be coming back to you, again. I won't go against everything my parents raised me to believe and turn myself into someone I'm not by accepting your lifestyle and trying to tell myself what you do is no different from what my parents did. The truth is my parents risked their lives upholding the law, while you risk your life breaking it. Sonny was right. He told me my spirit was dying. Compromising everything I believe for you is killing it. If I don't do something pretty soon, I'll just be an empty shell of my former self. Jason:And can't you see that this life is slowly killing me. If I don't go back to the mob where I'm truly happy, I'll just be an empty shell of my former self. Robin:Then you've made your choice and I've made mine. There's really nothing more left for us to say to each other. Dining Room, The Brownstone: Jax:You know, I want me and Brender's wedding to be the biggest wedding this town has ever seen. I want it to rival Charles and Di's. Stefan:Are you sure you want to compare yourself to the royals. From everything we heard they lead a most unhappy life. Carly(smirking at Brenda)Yes, Charles married Di eventhough he was in love with somebody else. Jax:Nonsense, me and me Brender will have a blissful life together. Brender, the first think we've got to do is to find the perfect place for our wedding to be held. Sonny:How about a yacht? Luke told me when he was supposed to marry Jennifer Smith their wedding was held on the Smith yacht. Of course, Luke ended up being knocked overboard before the wedding could take place. Bobbie:And Luke and Laura married at the mayor's mansion. Of course, there was trouble at their wedding, too. Jax:No, it has to be some place unique and special that no one else has been married at before. Kat;Will you be throwing Brenda an engagement ball the way Stefan did for me? Jax:Now there's an idea. Cassadine, would you be willing to rent out your ballroom to me for the night. Hey, maybe we could even have the wedding on Spoon Island. Stefan:Absolutely not. Spoon Island is not for rent. I suggest you try the local legion hall. Jax:Speaking of the wedding, I was so hoping it would have been a double wedding. Bobbie, just what happened, anyway. At the Quartermaine party Jerry told me he intended to propose to you and the next thing I know he's calling me to tell me he's leaving town for good. Stefan:Jacks proposed to you and you turned him down? He's left town for good? Barbara, why didn't you tell me this?
