Ballroom, Quartermaine Mansion:
Stefan(dancing with Bobbie)I heard you asking Jacks if you could leave 
before dinner was served. You can't runaway from what's between us, 
Barbara.
Bobbie:Stefan, do you deny the first thing that came to your mind when 
you learned Luke was Nikolas' father was to use me to get back at him.
Stefan:No, I don't deny it. In fact, the reason I showed up at the cabin 
Jones' was keeping you prisoner in was to save you and make you feel 
grateful to me. That's part of the reason I convinced you we should bury 
Jones. So I'd have a hold over you.
Bobbie:That's what I thought. In fact, I've just been waiting for you to 
make your move and use it against me.
Stefan:Yet, I'm the one you've turned to when you've been scared and 
frightened, although you suspect my motives.
Bobbie:It's not like I've had much choice in the matter. You're the only 
one who knows my secret. You're the only one I can turn to, which is 
exactly what you planned, no doubt.
Stefan:Be that as it may, what happened between us out on the terrace 
was real. And it made me remember there was something real between us 
when we were first married that had nothing to do with the 
Spencer/Cassadine family feud. Something that never got a chance to grow 
or be explored because I became fixated on Katherine Bell as a Laura 
substitute. But by some miracle it's still there waiting for us to give 
it a chance to find out what we could have together. I'm more than 
willing to give it a chance. Are  you?
Jerry:You must be thrilled to have Brenda back.
Jax;It's a dream come true, but she seems different somehow. There's 
this distance between us. She hasn't wanted us to make love since she 
came back. Everytime I've tried, she's rebuffed me. She just keeps 
saying she needs more time to adjust to being back, first.
Jerry:Well, from what you told me she's been through, that's probably 
true. Just be patient and give it some time and I'm sure everything will 
work out.
Jax:I just wish Corinthos wasn't back in town. You should have seen him 
this evening. He hasn't left Brender alone.
Jerry:You can't think he'll try to start things up with Brenda, again. 
He just got married to Carly.
Jax:I wouldn't put anything past that moral degenerate.
Jerry:Relax, little brother, you're worrying about nothing. Sonny's 
married to Carly, now, and believe me, that little lady will keep him on 
a very short leash.(he looks at Bobbie and Stefan dancing)I just someone 
would do the same thing for Cassadine. It's a pity Katherine Bell is 
boffing that kid, now. She'd be the perfect distraction to keep 
Cassadine busy and stop him from sniffing around Bobbie.
Jax:What are you planning to do about it. I know you, so I know you're 
planning to do something.
Jerry:I'm going to marry Bobbie. In fact, when we get back to the 
brownstone, tonight, I intend to pop the question.
Jax:Do my ears deceive m e. The worlds most confirmed bachelor is 
finally going to take the plunge.
Jerry:That's right and once Bobbie is my my wife, Cassadine will get the 
message that Bobbie's off limits to him.
Jax:I don't know about that, Jerry. Are you forgetting that marriage 
didn't stop Cassadine from going after Laura Spencer.(he looks around 
the room)Maybe we can make it a double wedding. If Brender hadn't had 
her accident we'd be married already. So there's really no reason for us 
to delay getting married any longer. Speaking of Brender, I wonder where 
she is. I hope Corinthos hasn't got her cornered somewhere.

The Boathouse:
Sonny:(and Brenda enter)All right, Brenda, we're here, now. So what's 
this all about.
Brenda:Lets sit down, first. It's a long story.(they sit down on a crate 
together, then she stands back up and starts pacing, restlessly)I don't 
really know where to start. You remember when I told you about my 
breakdown?(he nods)Well, there were a few things that I left out. Like 
Jax got m e released from the hospital before I was really well.
Sonny:Typical Jax.
Brenda:Or that after I visited Lily's grave I seemed well and everyone 
believed I was, but looking back on the way I acted, I don't think I was 
well, at all. I think if you had spent more time with me than you did 
when you came back to help Jason, you would have seen there was 
something still wrong with me.
Sonny:So what are you saying? That the way you've behaved towards me, 
tonight, is because you're still mentally ill?
Brenda:No, that's not what I'm saying, at all. I'm trying to explain to 
you why I acted towards you the way I did the night you were trapped in 
that fire with Jax.
Sonny:I understand perfectly why you acted the way you did. All you 
cared about was Jax. End of story.
Brenda:(sits back down next to Sonny and caresses his cheek)No, that's 
not true. I wasn't well, baby. If I had been, you're the one I would h 
ave ran to that night, not Jax. The same sickness that made me think you 
were trying to kill me, made me act the way I did towards you, that 
night.
Sonny(pulls his face away from her caress and puts some distance between 
them)What does this have to do with your behavior towards me, tonight.
Brenda:I'm getting to that. When my memory came back, I realized 
something about Jax and me. We don't belong together. Everytime we've 
tried to get married, something has prevented it from happening because 
he's not who I'm supposed to be with. Our first marriage was invalid 
because Jax was still married to Miranda. When Jax and I were planning 
to get legally married in New Orleans, Harry kidnapped me and you and I 
ended up making love in the catacombs. But proof positive is the fact 
that when you'd let me go and walked away from me and nothing should 
have prevented me from finally marrying Jax, the accident happened and 
stopped me from marrying Jax, again. That's because Jax and I aren't 
right together. Jax even said it, himself. He said there was something 
wrong with us. And I know what it is. It's because Jax isn't you. He 
isn't the man I'm destined to be with. You are.
Sonny:Oh, really. You seem to forget I witnessed the touching little 
reunion between you and Jax on the docks. If you realized you and Jax 
don't belong together, then why are you still with him.
Brenda:Because you married Carly. Sonny, I was coming back to you. When 
I woke up after my accident the only thing I could remember was your 
name. Then when my memory started coming back, it was all memories of 
you. But when I arrived on the docks I saw you kissing Carly. Do you 
know how hurt and devastated I was when I heard you'd just married her. 
Then Jax was suddenly there and I saw it as my chance to hurt you back. 
I know it was stupid and impulsive, but I didn't want you to realize I'd 
been coming back to you. So I flung myself in Jax's arms and pretended 
he was the one I came back to, instead.
Sonny:What do you expect me to do about this? What do you want me to do?
Brenda:(pulls him down on the crate next to her and runs her fingers 
through his hair)That's simple, baby. I want you to give us another 
chance. That's what tonight has been about.
Sonny(pulls her fingers out of his hair)Brenda, we don't work. This 
thing between us is destructive. You had a breakdown and I wrecked my 
whole life because of some mistaken notion I had that I was keeping you 
safe by going away and not marrying you. Do you know how it feels to 
live with the fact that I caused you to have a breakdown? All we ever 
seem to do is end up hurting each other. I don't want to hurt you, 
anymore and I don't want to get hurt, anymore. We're both just starting 
to rebuild our lives. Don't you think it's time we cut our losses, 
called it quits and went our seperate ways.
Brenda:(holds his face in her hands)Baby, we're two emotionally damaged 
people who somehow found each other. We didn't grow-up with an example 
of what a healthy relationship should be. We fell in love and we didn't 
have a user's manual to tell us what to do and what not to do. All we 
could do was play it by ear. And we ended up making a lot of mistakes 
and hurting each other and causing each other a lot of pain. But 
everytime we get past the hurt and pain we caused each other our love 
just grows more deeper and more stronger than it was before adn we learn 
from our mistakes and our relationship gets better. Baby, were so close 
to finally getting this thing between us right. Don't give up on us, 
now.
Sonny:Brenda, I don't want his, anymore.
Brenda:Baby, I know you don't mean that. I know you're just saying that 
because you're scared. I am too. But I'm nore afraid of losing you, 
forever.(she stand up and slips her dress off her shoulders. It falls to 
her feet)Look me in the eyes and tell me you don't want me. Tell me you 
don't need me. Tell me you don't love me.(she slides his jacket down his 
arms and begins unbutton his shirt.)You can't, can you? You can't deny 
the truth.(she takes his hand and holds it against her heart, then she 
holds her hand against his chest where his heart is pounding in unison 
to hers)Do you feel that, baby. They're beating at the same time. That's 
because we share the same heart.
Sonny(closes his eyes and leans his head back against the wall)Brenda, 
don't do this to me.
Brenda(kisses the spot on his chest where his heart is beating)Stop 
trying to fight what's between us, baby. You know it's a losing battle. 
You might as well try to stop the wind from blowing or the sea from 
churning.Together we're like a force of nature that can't be 
stopped.(she wraps her arms around him and trails kisses up his 
neck)It's been so long. I want you so much I ache for you. If I don't 
have you right this minute, I think I'll die from wanting you.(she 
begins unfastening his trousers)
Sonny(holds her face in his hands)Brenda, we'll only end up hurting each 
other. That's how it always ends.
Brenda:I don't care. All that matters is right now. Not the past or the 
future. Just this moment.
Sonny(swallows deeply as he stares hungerly at her mouth, fighting with 
everything in him not to give into her or himself)Brenda, I'm married.
Brenda(runs her hands slowly up and down his chest as his breathing 
becomes labored)Don't think, baby, just feel. Feel what I'm doing to you 
and how it makes you feel. Feel the fire between us. Nothing matters 
right now but that. Let me make you burn for me the way I burn for you.
Sonny:(resistance crumbles and as his passion for her becomes to strong 
for him to fight it any longer)God help me, I don't have the strength to 
fight what both of us want so badly.(his mouth swoops down on hers as he 
kisses hungerly)
Brenda:That's right, baby. Let the fire consume you.(they sink to the 
floor as they begin making love like two people starved for each other's 
touch)Let the fire consume both of us.

The Ballroom:
Bobbie(and Stefan dancing)And just how would I give this thing between 
us a chance?
Stefan:You could start by coming home with me and letting me love you 
all night long.
Jerry(comes up to them and breaks the spell)Bobbie, are you ready to go 
home, now.
Bobbie(steps away from Stefan)Yes, I am. Goodnight, Stefan.
Stefan:(takes Bobbie's hand and brings it up to his lips and kisses it 
while never breaking contact with Bobbie's eyes)Until next we meet and 
continue where we left off.(he nods curtly to Jerry)Mr. Jacks.
Jerry(watches Stefan exit)What was that all about. What did he mean by 
that.
Bobbie:Don't pay any attention to him. He's russian.
Carly(comes up to them)Have you seen Sonny?
Bobbie:The last time I saw him was when we were dancing together and 
Stefan cut in.
Carly:Thanks a lot, Bobbie. I told you to keep an eye on him.
V(looking around)I don't see Brenda, anywhere.
Felicia:I saw her slip outside witih Sonny a little while ago. I think 
they were headed down by the boathouse.
V:Good, then I think I'll just go find them and finally have my little 
chat with Brenda.
