CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVE
SONNY’S PENTHOUSE:
Carly(and Sonny entered)Boy, does it feel good to be back home, again. If I ever tell you about wanting to live out some romantic fantasy, again, please stop me.
Sonny: Come on, Carly, it wasn’t that bad. At least you got to see me in a pair of those skin-tight pants.
Carly: (sighed)Now that you mention it, that was the highlight of the entire trip. I’m just getting warm remembering the way those pants molded themselves to your body. It left absolutely nothing to the imagination.
Sonny: I got a little warm myself with the way you kept ogling me in them. So much so, I brought a pair of them home with me.
Carly: Sonny, you didn’t! Those clothes are supposed to stay there.
Sonny: Come on, Carly, I was just taking home a little souvenir of our honeymoon. A keepsake, if you will. It’s just like when you stay at a fancy hotel and you take the towels home with you. Not to mention those little sample soaps and the chocolates they leave on your pillow.
Carly: I’ve never done that. And there’s no need for you to do that either, Mr. Sticky Fingers. Are you forgetting you’re loaded. You can buy all that stuff if you want it so badly. You don’t need to filch it.
Sonny: Sweetheart, I’ll never be that rich that I won’t take a little of the extras home with me. It’s the principal of the thing. If I didn’t do it, I’d never be able to hold my head up high in Brooklyn ever, again. And you’re going to thank me for it when I sashay around the house in those things. (he added with a wicked grin) Did I tell you that those things are so tight that I can’t wear anything underneath them. When you next see me in them know that underneath I’m as bare as the day I was born.
Carly: You must have been a very wicked child, cause, baby, just look at you now.
Sonny: Well, the nuns did say they didn’t know how such an angelic looking child could have such a soul of the devil. I was always creating some kind of mischief as a boy. Did I ever tell you about the time I poured vinegar in the sacristy wine?
Carly: No, you didn’t, and you’re not going to tell me now. What you’re going to do is take yourself upstairs and take a nap. It wasn’t all that long ago that you were thrown from that horse and I want you to rest.
Sonny: Carly, you’re the one whose pregnant and I’m the one who should be telling you to get some rest.
Carly: I’ll make you a deal. You agree to rest now, and I’ll rest later.
Sonny; I have a better idea. Why don’t we both go upstairs and rest together.
Carly: Sonny, if I lay down with you, the last thing we’re going to do is rest. Besides, there’s something I have to do.
Sonny: Like what?
Carly: It’s a surprise. But if you’re a good boy and you go and take a nap, I’ll wake you up with a kiss, later.
Sonny: That’s supposed to be an enticement? You’re always kissing me.
Carly: Not where I’m planning to kiss you when I wake you up, later. (her eyes settled on his crotch)
Sonny: You wouldn’t?
Carly: You won’t know that unless you lay down and take a nap for me.
Sonny: I can’t believe the things you get me to do.
Carly(eyed Sonny’s backside wondering if he was wearing anything under his trousers as he headed upstairs. Well, she‘d definitely find out later, wouldn‘t she?)Enough of that. I’ve got something I’ve got to do. (She grabbed her purse and headed out the door)
DINING ROOM, WYNDEMERE:
Bobbie(pulled away from Stefan when he began to nuzzle her neck as he seated her at the dining room table)Stefan, don’t!
Stefan: I see we’re back to pretending you don’t want my touch, again. (he seated himself opposite her)Barbara, this is really growing tedious.
Bobbie: Then why don’t you let me go.
Stefan: Because I don’t want to. I’m tired of living alone and sleeping alone. Now that you’re here I’m not alone, any longer.
Bobbie: If you want a companion, why don’t you go out and find yourself another blonde.
Stefan: I told you, I’m done with all that. I’m done trying to find some blonde substitute for my mother who will love me the way she didn’t. Besides, everyone of those relationships inevitably blows up in my face.
Bobbie: In case it slipped your mind, so did ours. You were messing around with Katherine Bell behind my back and I betrayed you for my brother.
Stefan(studied the glass of wine that sat before him)Tell me, Barbara, if there had been no Katherine Bell, would you have betrayed me for your brother or would you have remained loyal to me.
Barbara: No, I wouldn’t have betrayed you.
Stefan: (he studied her carefully)Your answer comes so quick. Don’t you need to think about it for awhile.
Barbara: No, I don’t. I would have never betrayed you, if you hadn’t betrayed me first. You had my complete loyalty until you proved to me you didn’t deserve it.
Mrs. Lansbury(entered)Tony Jones is here to see you, Mr. Cassadine.
Stefan: I wonder what he wants? Maybe he’s come to save you from my evil clutches. (he looked at Mrs. Lansbury)Send him in.
Bobbie: I highly doubt that.
Stefan: Come, Barbara, it would make the good doctor’s day to play your hero. Then maybe you’d come back to him. Or at least that’s what he thinks. While you get involved with one man after another, he waits on the side lines for the day that you’ll finally turn back to him. The fool refuses to realize that day will never come.
Tony(entered)I hope I’m not disturbing you and Bobbie?
Stefan: As you can see we’re only having dinner. Come an hour later and that might not be the case. [Bobbie could have kicked him for that] What can I do for you?
Tony: You may have to put off your plans for your and Bobbie’s extra curricular activities until another time. I came here to tell you that we’ve found a kidney that matches. Given your condition, I think we should admit you immediately and schedule your surgery for as soon as possible.
