CHAPTER NINETY-TWO

HELENA’S YACHT:

Sonny: Just what is it that you want?

Helena: Sit down and we’ll discuss it.

Sonny: No thanks, I prefer to stand. I want to get this over as soon as possible so I can get home to my wife.

Helena: She’s no doubt waiting for you to join her in bed.

Sonny: What do you want.

Helena: I want your mob.

Sonny: What!

Helena: I want you to hand me over total control of your mob.

Sonny: That’s not possible.

Helena: Mr. Corinthos, you’ll find that anything is possible, if you know how to go about making it possible.

Sonny: And just how am I supposed to go about making this possible.

Helena: Very simple. You’ll just transfer everything into my name. You’ll move all the money in your off-shore bank accounts into my back accounts.

Sonny: You’re crazy. Why would I do that.

Helena: You saw the tape. That’s why you’re here. I have your wife on tape blowing AJ Quartermaine’s brains out, and you dragging his body away.

Sonny: If I do what you ask, they’ll kill me.

Helena: That’s your problem, not mine. I’ll expect you to begin the process in the morning. I’ll send my man over to you in the morning to pick up the first series of deeds transferring ownership to me of the businesses you use to launder money through. (she added) You don’t have a choice. Not if you want to keep your wife out of prison for first degree murder. If I recall correctly, don’t they have the death penalty in this state.

Sonny: I’ve got a better idea. Why don’t I just kill you and destroy the tape.

Helena: Do you really think that’s the only copy. If anything happens to me a copy of the tape will be delivered to your good friend, Detective Taggart. I’m sure he’d love to take both you and your wife down. You can expect my man tomorrow, Mr. Corinthos. If you don’t have the documents ready for him when he comes to pick them up, the next person knocking at your door will be the police to arrest both you and your wife.(she called after Sonny after he stormed off the yacht)Have a pleasant evening, Mr. Corinthos.

Andreas: Do you think he’ll do it.

Helena: Of course, he has no choice.

Andreas: And do you think he’ll resent his wife for costing him the power he prized so much?

Helena: We should know very soon, shouldn’t we, Andreas.

DINING ROOM, WYNDEMERE:

Stefan(was still in a snit over what he saw between Bobbie and Roy, earlier)Did you enjoy your walk, Barbara.

Bobbie: Yes, when I lived here it was always one of my favorite things to do.

Stefan: And did you encounter any surprises on your walk.

Bobbie: Such as?

Stefan: I was just making conversation. I also understand you had a visitor, today. Our daughter.

Bobbie: Yes, I was shocked Carly came to see me. It was the last thing I expected to happen. But I guess she feels it’s safe now that you got your kidney transplant. Don’t be surprised if she decides to pay you a visit soon, either.

Stefan: I’ll look forward to that. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some work to take care of in my den.

Bobbie(watched him go in confusion)Of course.

THE PENTHOUSE:

Sonny(stormed into the room like the Tasmanian Devil. He threw his coat on the floor in a fury, then he stomped over to the bar and poured himself a drink, which he ended up throwing against the wall.)

Carly(heard the noise and came down to investigate)Baby, what’s wrong.

Sonny(tried to get control of his temper)Nothing. Nothing’s wrong.

Carly: Something put you in a temper and I’m not going to leave it alone until you tell me.

Sonny: Then I guess I’ll have to find a way to shut you up, won’t I. (he grabbed her and began kissing her, pouring all his anger into his passion for her and get rid of it in a positive way, instead of breaking furniture and wreaking the place like he wanted to do)

Carly(pulled away from him and ripped open his shirt)Don’t think this is going to distract me. I will find out what got you so angry. I just won’t do it now. (then she grabbed his face and pulled him back into a kiss.)

Andreas(and Helena were watching the scene between Sonny and Carly unfold from the yacht.)Well, I guess we have our answer.

Helena: Yes, instead of putting a wedge between them, it’s only going to bring them closer as he turns to her for comfort. How vexing. (Helena looked at her watch)Enough of this. It’s time I go and deal with our next victim.

Andreas: Do you want me to help you.

Helena: No, I want to handle this one all by myself.
