CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR

ALEXIS’ PENTHOUSE:

Helena(dragged Alexis body into the bedroom and on to the bed)Our Jax would never leave one of his ladies hanging over the toilet like that. No, he’s on a mission to save women like you, Alexis. He’d stage a romantic scene. He’d surround you with rose petals and candlelight. It’s really too bad I didn’t think of this before. It would have added so much to the Sex Toy Stalker’s mystique. Maybe the police will think Jax feels freed to really put his all into the crime scenes now that he’s been exposed as the Stalker. And, of course, this is a special crime scene. This is the scene where Jax declares his intention to continue on with his mission in Port Charles. (Helena went over and took out the letter she penned in Jax’s hand)Alexis, I intended to send this to the newspapers. But I think you will be an even better messenger to deliver Jax’s message to Port Charles.

Andreas(stood in the doorway)Madam, is everything all right.

Helena: Andreas, what are you doing here?

Andreas: I became worried about you, Madam, It was taking you an awfully long time to get it done.

Helena: How sweet of you, dear boy. And since you’re here you can help me. I need you to go around this penthouse and find all the candles you can muster up.

Andreas: Of course, Madam. And what will you be doing while I’m doing that.

Helena: Applying make-up to Alexis’ face. From now on our Jax will be very artistic, almost ritualistic in his killing of these women.

Andreas: Yes, Madam.

Helena(looked down at Alexis and caressed her hair)I’m not a monster, really. My silence about your true paternity kept you alive longer than you would have been otherwise. But with you finding out Mike Corbin is your true father, it could have lead to the truth about my identity coming out. If you probed Mike Corbin about your mother, he might have somehow realized I was the woman he’d slept with all those many years ago. And I couldn’t have that happen. Which was why I fooled Andreas into thinking there were other women’s names in that hat when yours was the only name. I knew you had to go next. And now the issue of you being Mike Corbin’s daughter will die with you and he’ll no longer have a reason to try and remember the details from that long ago liaison.

The next morning:

HELENA’S YACHT:

Andreas: (served Helena her breakfast)So, Madam, how are we going to go about setting Roy DeLucca up. I really think we must draw this thing to an end before the chance arrives for someone to discover the truth.

Helena(as she forked some eggs into her mouth)You do have a point. I think we need to have DeLucca in a public place when the news about Alexis breaks. Then we can have witnesses when he blows off his big mouth. I doubt the locals would take my word on anything after the way Stefan has bad-mouthed me to them. Where is he at the moment.

Andreas: He’s doing as you instructed him to do, Madam.

Helena: Really, that should be very interesting. Why don’t we watch it. (Helena flicked on her television. Her favorite show was playing. Sonny TV.) Oh, goody, I think we just tuned-in in time.

SONNY’S PENTHOUSE:

Sonny(was working at his desk at doing what Helena had ordered him the night before when Johnny entered and announced Roy was here to see him)Hey, Roy, what are you doing here. I haven’t seen you since you got out. I’m sorry about that. I’ve just been so busy with my own problems.

Roy(snarled)I finally got out of jail, but no thanks to you.

Sonny: What did you expect me to do. The only one who could get you out was Cassadine. There was no way I could make him drop the charges against you.

Carly: (from the staircase)Sonny’s right, but my mother could do something and she did.

Roy(looked up at Carly)What are you talking about.

Carly: If you’ve come to blame my husband for not getting you out of jail, then you’re completely out of line. Sonny couldn’t do anything to help you, but my mother could and did.

Roy: What did Bobbie do?

Carly: Think about it, Roy, and I’m sure it’ll come to you, but lay-off my husband.(with that she disappeared upstairs).

Sonny: Well, if that’s all you came to say...

Roy: That’s not why I came here. I believe you have some papers for Helena Cassadine.

Sonny(couldn’t believe what he was hearing)You work for her! You’re the man she sent to pick up the deeds she demanded I sign over to her.

Roy(held out his hand)Yes, so why don’t you give them to me so I can leave.

Sonny: How can you work for her? Do you know what she’s doing to me?

Roy: Business is business.

Sonny: (slammed the deeds into Roy’s hands)Yeah, I’m sure that’s the same thing you told yourself when you were ratting all those guys out to keep yourself out of jail. Once a snitch, always a snitch. Too bad I didn’t give you the same response when you came to me looking for help. (with that Roy left)
