CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND SIX
HELENA’S YACHT:
Helena: Killing me won’t change the fact your husband made love to me.
Carly: (lunged towards Helena, but Andreas held her back)My husband didn’t make love to you. You raped him!
Helena: Raped him? My dear, I suggest you look at that tape, again. He didn’t try to fight me off.
Carly: No, because you were holding me to his throat like a knife. I know you’re the one who tried to frame me for killing AJ and that Sonny let you molest him to get you to undo what you did?
Helena: Framed you for exactly what you did, you mean. (Helena smiled at Carly’s shocked expression)Yes, that’s right, I know exactly what you did to AJ Quartermaine. You should thank me, really. Because of what I did, you are now above suspicion in his disappearance.
Carly: Just what did you hope to gain by sending me that tape? Did you think I’d turn on him and leave him and then you’d have a chance with him, yourself? Maybe it might have worked. I might have been so hurt and devastated if you told me Sonny had had sex with you, I might have done just that. But, see, you over-played your hand. By sending me a visual-aide of what happened, I was able to see that my husband loves me so much he let some disgusting old woman grope him to save me. Mrs. Cassadine, I know how my husband reacts when he enjoys being touched and made love to, and what you did to him made his skin crawl. You accomplished just the opposite of what you planned. You’ve made me love my husband even more.
Helena:(sneered at Carly)I am so sick of you two misfits acting like you’ve found some great love together and that when you two rut together it’s some sort of magical experience for the both of you. You claim I failed, but I didn’t. I won. I’ve destroyed that magical sexual bond you two convinced yourselves that you share together. From now on every time you two have sex, I’ll be standing between the two of you. You’ll both remember that I had sex with your husband. That everything that you’re doing to him, I did to him, too.
Carly: You haven’t touched what we share. You’ve just added to the depth of it. Sonny’s too sensitive for his own good. In a lot a ways, he’s still very much a child that needs me to protect him from people like you. (she looked over at the monitor)So, you’ve been watching us. Did you enjoy it when we made love? Well, enjoy the final show, it’s going to be a doozy. After that, I’ll be removing every disgusting camera and listening device you planted in our penthouse.
Helena: Just what is that supposed to mean?
Carly: I want you to be sure to watch just how much you’ve come between us. I want you to see that you’ve lost. That you tried your best to destroy us and you failed miserably. And there’s nothing more you can do to us. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go home to my husband and help him deal with what you did to him. Like I said, Granny, enjoy the show. It’s going to be Must-See TV.
Helena(glared at Carly as she left)You think there’s nothing more that I can do to you? You haven’t got a clue.
STEFAN’S STUDY, WYNDEMERE:
Mrs. Lansbury(watched Stefan watching the closed-circuit feed coming from the wine cellar)Mr. Cassadine, how long do you intend to leave Ms. Spencer in there with Mr. DeLucca.
Stefan: Until I’m sure of Barbara’s unswerving fidelity to me.
Mrs. Lansbury: If you leave her in there too long, she might figure out that you set this up.
Stefan: That’s definitely a possibility. But a risk I’m willing to take.
Mrs. Lansbury: But if she finds out, she might turn to Mr. DeLucca to pay you back.
Stefan: If she passes this test, I won’t allow her the option to do that. (he looked up from the monitor at Mrs. Lansbury)Mrs. Lansbury, you are now all that I have left to confide in now that Alexis’ is gone. You do know that if you should repeat any of my confidences to another living soul I will kill you without batting an eyelash?
Mrs. Lansbury: Yes, sir.
Stefan: Excellent. You are aware that the woman calling herself Helena Cassadine is an imposter. That she and my father murdered my mother and she assumed her identity?
Mrs. Lansbury: Yes, sir.
Stefan: You do know I’m going to kill her for that, don’t you?
Mrs. Lansbury: Yes, sir.
Stefan: Tell me about my real mother. Tell me I’m not making up things in my mind now that I know the truth about the woman who raised me. Tell me that my real mother truly loved me.
Mrs. Lansbury: She did, sir. When you were an infant she would spend hours with you in the nursery. She would read to you and play with you and kiss and hug you and tell you how much she loved you.
Stefan: Yes, that’s what I remember, but I couldn’t be sure if it was true or just something my mind made up because I’ve always wanted so badly for my mother to love me.
Mrs. Lansbury: Then she changed. She stopped spending time with you and started lavishing all her attention on Stavros and began to treat you coldly and disdainfully. We all thought it was because Mikkos had brought his illegitimate bastard daughter Alexis into the household, but apparently it wasn‘t...
Stefan: Now we know the truth. She lavished all her love and attention on Stavros because he was the heir, and wasted nothing on me because I wasn’t. It all makes so much sense now. Thank you, Mrs. Lansbury. (he turned his attention back to the monitor and turned up the volume so he could hear what they were saying to each other.)
