Here are some of the latest things I've been working on. I try to only use natural stones and precious metals in my jewelry. I'd rather wear gravel out of my driveway than cubic zirconia. I sometimes use synthetic stringing materials though because they're stronger. I usually use either nylon or silk cord. I'll apologize in advance for my poor photography skills. I'm really hoping that practice will make perfect! I would love to hear any feedback you might have, so please feel free to email me or sign the guestbook. Cheers, and thanks for stopping by!

This is the first beaded piece that I made. And ever since, I've been on a bit of a beading kick. It's done with garnet beads and "Bali Silver" Sterling silver findings. Not bad for a first try I think. I made some matching earrings too. I'm generally not a big fan of fishhooks, but that's all they had at the local bead shop here, and I was too cheap and impatient to order them online. Still, I think they turned out cute.

| Here's a bit of an improvement on the three strand bracelet. Once I learned how to do french-wire ends, my whole life changed! Well, maybe not that drastic, but it was still a big deal. Here we have amazonite, rice pearls and sterling beads and findings. I really like this bracelet, it's a Christmas present for my sister though, so don't tell! I picked amazonite because it's very similar in appearance to aquamarine, her birthstone, but I couldn't find any smooth round aquamarine beads, only facetted. The clasp alone was half of the cost of making the bracelet! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I made some matching earrings too. I just love leverbacks. Same materials as before. I thought about doing a pendant as well (an 18x22 amazonite cabochon in a silver cinch-tite setting on a silver rolo chain), but then I thought, that's just too much. There's so much amazonite in the bracelet that I think a matching pendant would be overdoing it.

So after making those, I had a little bit of amazonite left over, so I made myself the set you see here. It's done in amazonite, rose quartz (one of my favorite stones), little 4mm pearls and even smaller sterling beads, with sterling toggle clasps. The necklace is about 16" long which is longer than the choker/collar-style I usually wear, and the bracelet is a standard 7". I just wanted a set that was small and dainty and would go with some of the pink clothes and accessories that I've been wearing this summer. I think it turned out really cute. Again, I decided that earrings would be too much. I think that once you wear more than two pieces with a certain design, it gets a little too matchy-matchy.
