CAPT. THOMAS J. "DANNY" DANIEL (Flight Commander, 79th.FS/20th.FG)

Hailing from El Centro, California, Thomas J. Daniel was assigned to the 79th. FS/20th.FG on 14 June, 1944 and by 28 October had become a flight commander. On 7 November, 1944 he was promoted to Assistant Squadron Operations Officer, a position which he held throughout a full tour of 300 combat hours.He returned to the States on 9 January, 1945. Daniel was awarded the Air Medal with 5 clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross while with the 20th.FG. He resided in California until has passing on 8 September, 2000.
