TALL TALE OF FRIENDSHIP
Two little ponies live in
a field,
one very friendly clicks
his heels,
The other quiet, very, very
shy,
never speaks, or looks him
in the eye.
The friendly pony, always
glad,
the shy one, always sad;
He tries to nuzzle when
tears well in her eyes,
but she pulls away, hangs
her head and sighs.
They run through the meadow,
share bales of hay,
but the shy one never looks
his way;
The other ponies treat her
very mean,
call her names and laugh
at her to cause an ugly scene.
The ponies in the pasture
are waiting to parade,
swishing tails and prancing,
a new star will be made;
But the shy little pony
stays near the fence,
she doesn't feel important,
her beauty isn't sensed.
Who will be chosen to lead
the grand parade,
probably not the shy one,
of her much fun is made;
There's only one pony who
tries to be her friend,
he lavishes attention, and
help he always lends.
Day after day he encouraged,
til she raised her head high,
and pranced around the pasture
looking others in the eye;
The trainer saw her changing,
she's ready to parade,
today she'll be the leader,
he sees she's not afraid.
"I've made a wreath of flowers,
I'll weave them in your hair
the bridle's made of silver,
for the fairest of the fair";
The shy one grew confident
as excitement built inside,
she asked if he'd wear velvet
and on her saddle ride.
"Yes, said the trainer,
but a partner you must choose,
who of all the ponies deserves
to parade with you"?
"I know, said the shy one
as she pranced across the field,
the only one who ever cared,
the one who clicks his heels."
Slowly, she walked up to
him, he could only stare,
who is this beautiful creature
with flowers in her hair;
"It's me, she said, the
shy one, you've always been so kind,
Today I am the leader, all
glory will be mine."
"I want to share the moment
with a special friend,
will you parade next to
me, a message we will send;
They were cruel to call
me names, it often made me cry,
it beat me down til I couldn't
look you in the eye.
This is a glorious moment,
I'll lead the grand parade,
the other ponies will be
sorry, a big mistake they made;
They won't share the spotlight,
they caused me too much pain,
but you made me believe,
in myself again.'
They danced and pranced
and paraded on that magical night,
the crowd stood and cheered
at the handsome sight;
The shy one filled with
confidence, oh how she shined
because someone reached
out, and handed a lifeline.
