#23: The Bull and Gate, Camden; 18 June 2002

<picture coming soon>

A well known venue for unsigned bands, and it has the coolest setup. However we only pulled in about 10 people, but ended up playing to a good few more... Thanks again to Jon and Nat the media providers. The sound was good, and we played as we always do, rocking the stage. The other bands were once again okay, the last band, pulled a load of people, but were really monotonous... Hopefully we can get a repeat gig, when our uni crowd can come see us.

#22: The Boat Race, Cambridge; 11 June 2002

The Boat Race is the only venue we have now played 3 times, and it was certainly 3rd time lucky. Because we had an amazing sound. We were a little unprofessional as Ivano's guitar stopped working and it took us a couple of minutes to get a new lead sorted. However it was a cool night, Ten Benson were the headliners, hmmmm... They pulled a fair crowd in, which gave us someone to play to. Thanks to Nat for her camera work...

#21: West One Four, West Kensington; 1 June 2002

<picture coming soon>

The biggest gig of our career... after our previous undeserved 1st round win (cos we played so badly). And we played with the most passion and energy we could. Chaz went flying off the stage during Standard, and the crowd really appreciated a band who played the music like they meant it. We were commended by many of the supporters of the other bands, and a big thanks goes to Ivano's sister and her 'Brighton Massive' for giving us someone to play to. Easily our best attended gig, about 450 tickets were sold! Sadly we didn't get through, we didn't bring enough people... however we totally out played the other bands, including the dreadful 'Velvetstone' with their frontman who use dto be in 'Point Break', oh nice! The venue is the coolest place ever, and we hopefull can play a showcase night there...

#20: The King's Head, Fulham; 29 May 2002

Played quite a few gigs lately, with a load more still booked. This was one of the more well known venues. Excellent place, although we annoyed the promoter with our profanity before we went on stage. We only brought a few of our own crowd, fortunately there was a few people already there. We really have to figure out, how to get people to our London gigs. The sound again was good, and we had a wicked time on stage, although Ivano's lead fell out of his mic, which was a little embarrassing. We also got a video, by Ivan (useless piece of information). The other bands were okay, and we sold a few CD, yeah! This gig was just a little warm up for the big battle of the bands in 3 days!

#19: The Boat Race, Cambridge; 23 May 2002

We wanted to play the Boat Race again after our previous gig at new years was so well received and we knew we could do so much better. We were supposed to be supporting Junk TV, but they cancelled and another band Regal, headlined. They were ok, but spent far too long soundchecking. We took to the stage 2nd out of 4, and had a really good time. The sound was apparently bad... too much drums and guitars, not enough vocals. We have another gig in a couple of weeks, where hopefully we can improve.

#18: The Army and Navy, Chelmsford; 21 May 2002

Our worst ever attended gig, although the 15 people that were there (4 from the other band) got a treat, as had a really good sound. It was Chaz's first gig in a good few months, which improved the sound greatly. We played like there was a couple of hundred people there. The promoter there was a serious body odor problem, poor chap... the other band were cool too, 4 choir boys from Stortford. Doubt if we will play again because of the turn out, but its a cool venue.

#17: The Square, Harlow; 10 May 2002

<For more pictures of this gig, click here>

The Semi-Final; A great night of music at the Square, unfortunately it was the end of the road for Jackie-O in the rock contest... the judges preferred the comedy genius that is; Gorilla Monsoon (their band is a mix of Rage Against the Machine and Monty Python), also to play were Hybrideon, who were also superb. Probably one of our best performances ever, the sound on stage was good and the crowd were kinda getting into it. The stage was once again left in ruins with the climax of Jared, Ivano and Phill trashing their instruments, the crowd wasn't really into the whole gear-wrecking, they'll see that light one day...

#16: The Buffalo Bar;  7 May 2002

A very chilled out gig indeed. Only around 30-40 people there, nice little venue too. First band on were 'Switch', a kinda of Matchbox 20 meets the Fugees, which was very cool. Then the night hit rock bottom when Les Naturels hit the stage, they thought it was acoustic night, and did their best to clear the venue. We did a bit of last minute promotion at the local pub, and took to the stage about 9:45. Even with the low attendance we still played with energy and emotion, the sound was also good. Ivano performed stand-up comedy in between songs, it didn't really work, but kept the crowd interested during guitar change overs. We came off stage to a gleeful promoter, who said we saved the night, right on! We sold a bunch of CDs. Moocows played last, we gave them our full verbal 'moo! cow!' support. The night was marred by the fact that Phill's car got broken into, but nothing was stolen...

#15: Haverhill Arts Center; 3 May 2002

To our surprise we were the youngest band of the night, and also the most experienced! The venue was absolutely amazing, we had our own dressing room, shower and mirrors with the lights around (they didn't have any bulbs though).

The stage was the biggest we have played on, and there was an amazing sell-out crowd of 350. The sound was rather poor though, we performed in our usual energetic and passionate style, with Ivano and Ed both launching of the drum stage.

Support was ok, we had a lot of chants from the crowd 'play some moshing music!', but we won over some of the audience (Vicky, Liz and Alice, thanks girls!), and sold a load of CDs. The other bands were also good, they were inexperienced and lacked stage confidence, and to our disappointment we were judged to be 3rd out of the 4. (1st, Slingshot 7, 2nd, Insight, 4th Spectre).

#14: West One Four; 25 April 2002

Probably the weirdest gigs we have ever played, we got through in the end, but it was far from our usual standard. We were plagued by technical difficulties, mainly with the lead guitar sounding like Iron Maiden (\m/), because of this only 2 of our 5 songs were actually worth hearing. Lucky for us we played Muesli and Jared pretty much perfect. We were last on too, which didn't help, but what a fantastic venue, we will look forward to playing next round (1st June).

#13: The Half Moon; 5 April 2002

Although getting through to the semis the night before was what we wanted, we didn't do it in the style we wanted, but we performed a whole lot better. The venue with the smallest stage was very busy to start with, but soon after the first band finished, people started going h20, its just rock and roll. But we played to a semi-packed, but appreciative audience. Support was from the ever energetic Qual, and the metal-talent that is, Project Abner (who will win the square rock contest). The set was dedicated to our good friend Sophia who went away a few days later to South America.

#12: The Square, Harlow; 4 April 2002

<For more pictures of this gig, click here>

Lucky for us we were drawn last again and took to the stage with an amazing number of Jackie-O supporters, thanks to the Hilton crew. The other bands Battleska and Shard were both wicked, and the judges vote was split with us winning by 1 judge. We got the audience vote too. We had a very odd stage lay out too, with Ivano in the center and Edward and Marv on the same side! Not our best performance, a little out of practice, with timing errors, but we can't complain. The Semi-finals are on 10th May, where we will redeem our performance.

#11: The Square, Harlow; 14 February 2002

<For more pictures of this gig, click here>

Jackie-O were drawn last, the other bands, Self Defied and The Tossers, were both excellent and were well received by the 110 strong crowd. Jackie-O got through on the judges vote, while The Tossers took the audience vote. Ivano did some mental stage activity, Phil did his usual singing along, Marv was confident for his first gig and Edd smashed Chaz's guitar! Overall a good performance, so thanks to everyone that came to see us and to everyone at the Square, see you April 4!

#10: The Goose, Fat and Garlic, Sawbridgeworth; 29 December 2001

Not the best response, but it was a restaurant. We all had fun, and the sound was pretty good. We did our usual passionate stage performance, which was perhaps a bit much for the locals, but there was a big roar from the crowd, when Ed went on the floor during 'Muesli'. Also the Manager of Tracks (a CD shop) wanted to sell our demo in his store, result!

#9: The Boat Race, Cambridge; 27 December 2001

<For more pictures of this gig, click here>

A great debut for us at the Boat Race, once again organized for us by Qual. We were second on the bill which suited us, we had an excellent turn out and an amazing response, which really made the gig worth it. We were congratulated on our passionate stage performance, as Chaz once again went into the crowd, during 'Our Time', sadly his last big gig with us for 8 months...

#8: The Man on the Moon, Cambridge; 29 November 2001

We were originally playing at the Portland Arms, but they double booked us, and didn't tell us until a week before our gig, lucky for us a very friendly band by the name of JEFF helped us out and gave us a support slot with other bands Hamfatter and T*A*S*H. However JEFF weren't so friendly after we completely rocked 'their' stage and half of the dance floor, with Chaz flying off the stage a few times (first time during the debut performance of 'Museli'). We upset a few people there, including the sound guy, the landlord, most of the members of T*A*S*H and JEFF, but thats rock and roll. The sound was very bad, mainly Ed's guitar didn't really distort. Big thanks to Dan and Jon for QUAL, for the video work and support, and thanks to everyone who traveled up to support us. The other bands were very dull on stage; a few web addresses for you, to check out what the other bands thought of us!

#8: The Verge, Kentish Town; 6 November 2001

The biggest gig of our career went amazing well, thanks to Qual for their support and for getting us the gig. It was the first time we played all of our own songs (click here to view setlist), and we got a very good response to the crowd. We were extremely underrated as a band, as we were the first of 4 bands, which meant many of our supporters weren't there in time to see us. Act order:

-Jackie O; us, amazingly compared to 'Rage Against the Machine'

-My Perfect Sense; described as 'Essex Power Punksters'

-Luis; described as 'Rock'

-Qual; Described as 'Hardcore, Heavy, Catchy ,Melodic, Alternative, Experimental, Harmonious, Inspirational, Breathtaking & Noisy'

Our fans were once again the best ever, helping us with our gear in and out (even driving us to the gig!) and singing along to our songs. We played 2 of our 4 new songs, 'Jared' and 'Better by Design', which went down well. Thanks to the Qual for letting us play. There should be some photos very soon.

#7: Harvest Moon; 15 September 2001

We rocked the 'Harvesto' for an hour and a half, and were even invited to do an encore. However we weren't the Landladies 'cup of tea', our usual crowd of followers (probably now our Groupies) were there. We don't expect to play there again. The performance was said to be an improvement on the Half Moon gig, so its all good.

#6: Half Moon; 6 September 2001

Our first gig where we played our own material, 7 in total with 3 covers, we played for about 45 minutes. The Half Moon is the only pub in Bishop's Stortford with a stage, and is famous for its blues events. There were around 50 people in the small venue, which was a good turn out. We weren't as tight as practice, but we put on a good performance, and made a solid stage on which to build around.
