This is a single session lesson introducing primary students to some different types of frogs and their characteristics.

  1. 1. Students will access the lesson web site.
    2. As it is loading, teacher asks for volunteers to name different parts of a frog's life.
    3. Students click on the first site and describe the cycle verbally: eggs, tadpole, frog while looking at the diagram.
    4. Students click on the second link to view another life cycle picture.
    5. Students click on the third link to access the home page of CA frogs.
    6. Students click on each frog link, then links to pictures, maps and sounds individually or as a group depending on ability.
    7. Students answer evaluation questions to summarize what they have learned.

Assessment

To evaluate students' proficiency with the content standards in the culminating activity, I will ask them to answer the following questions, verbally or on paper as apprpriate for their grade level an abilities:
1. Name or draw the parts of a frogs life cycle.
2. Name at least one type of frog that lives here.
3. Describe (verbally or on paper) the sound of one frog type. Name the frog type.
