Neil Joseph was b 1862 to Philip Docherty and Rose Mary Demmcey (Dempsey) in Ireland. He died in Scranton Pennsylvania on April 26, 1946. On the 1881 census Neil is living at 27 Hopeton St. Inverkip Renfrew Scotland. It is believed he came to the USA in 1881 or 1882, however, this has not been verified.

Philip Docherty b 1836 married Rose Mary Demmcey (Dempsey) b 1837 d November 27, 1912. They were married on June 17, 1861 in Coleraine, Derry Ireland.
To date I have found they had the following children:

                Daniel b 1873 died 1906 in Greenock Renfrew Scotland
                Bridget b ???? married Samuel Darroch

                Patrick 1869

On the 1881 census only Neil Joseph and James living with Philip and Rose. Rose was living with Bridget when she passed away on November 27, 1912. They lived at 3 Compton St, Greenock, Renfrew Scotland.
