The ceiling in the living/dining are features a herringbone pattern of local Oregon pine which will be finished to preserve its natural color. The house has incorporated many little twists and quirks which the crew here have not seen in other homes they have built. My objective has been to create something unique, but not bizzar using traditional materials and techniques. Paramount in my design is comfort and functionality. We'll see how it works out in practice.
