Part 1 By Rhia ([email protected]) Spoilers: Any Jack/Tobey interaction in DC so far. Authors Note: Im just sick of writers that get rid of characters just as their storylines get interesting. *grrr* If theyre not going to keep the interaction up, I will!! Thanks to: Tams and Karen for beta-ing - the advice was greatly appreciated, thank you heaps!!! Our last night together for God knows how long, Jack sighed. And here we are with nothing to do. Bored, he flopped back onto the couch and stared sullenly at his shoes. Tobey shifted his gaze from the ceiling to Jack before jumping off the couch and grabbing their jackets. Cmon, he ordered, pulling Jack to a standing position. If this is going to be how I remember our last night in Capeside together before college Im going to go nuts. Were going out. He grinned. And what, may I ask, are we going to do in this backwater town to liven up our night? Jack asked suspiciously. Tobey cocked his head, seemingly deep in thought. Well, he began, eyes glinting mischievously, There are a few things I can think of. However, before we get to them, he winked, I thought wed go out for a coffee. I know this great little place By this time Jack was grinning too. Lets go then. If I recall, I never did get to try the coffee in that place. Yeah. Snorted Tobey in agreement, You were too busy trying to run away from me. He nudged Jack playfully and raced him to the car. The two sat down in a booth with their drinks and Jack looked around. Is this place new? I dont remember seeing it before. Nah, its been around for ages - they just remodeled it not long ago. Although I must say this is the first time Ive actually looked at it since before the renovations. Last time I was here I was intent on trying to convince this really hot guy that I wasnt really the devil in disguise. Jack smiled and reached across the table to stroke Tobeys hand. What did you end up doing after my oh-so-speedy departure that night? Tobey smiled a little as he remembered. After telling my friends that I had had something come up I ended up walking along the creek for a few hours trying to think of ways to get you to more than like me. Did you come up with any? Jack asked, curious. Tobey smirked. None that would have impressed you at the time. Jack blushed a little and Tobeys smile grew wider. You finished that? asked Tobey, indicating Jacks cup. Jack nodded. Lets keep going then. Where to now? asked Jack. Oh, just a few little places I know of. Tobey replied standing up and lacing his fingers with Jack as they took hands. Tobey and Jack wandered casually around Capeside to the places theyd visited together and remembering things theyd done. Their walk ended up at Tobeys house where they went inside to warm up. My parents are away for the weekend, announced Tobey as he noticed Jacks somewhat unsuccessful attempts to close the front door quietly. You dont need to worry about being quiet. Jack grinned as he slammed the front door shut. Thats a relief. He said. Tobey led Jack into the lounge and set about lighting the fire in the corner. Could you go up to my room and grab all the blankets off the bed? he asked Jack. Im freezing in here. Be right back. Promised Jack as he climbed the stairs. Once in Tobeys room he paused for a moment remembering how many hours he and Tobey had spent in this room talking about anything and everything. Grabbing the blankets off the bed he noticed the framed picture of himself and Tobey on the bedside table. Dawson had taken the photo when the gang had gone out for hot chocolate one afternoon and they had ended up having a huge snowball fight. The picture was taken while Jack was brushing snow out of Tobeys hair and Tobey was brushing a clump from Jacks shoulder. They were looking in each others eyes and laughing. What am I going to do without him? thought Jack sadly as he made his way back downstairs. There you are! exclaimed Tobey as Jack arrived in the lounge with the blankets. I was beginning to think youd decided to go to sleep up there. Jack grinned. Not a chance. He replied. Not when its so much warmer down here. He gave Tobey the blankets and went to stand in front of the fire. As he passed the couch he came across the nest of pillows Tobey had arranged on the floor in front of the fire for them. He raised an eyebrow, looking pointedly at Tobey then at the pillows. Tobey just winked. No sense in being uncomfortable while we warm up. He said. Walking over he dumped the blankets on the pillows and proceeded to burrow under them, grunting as he got comfortable. Jack smiled as he watched Tobey rearranging himself and the pillows. What? Tobey asked, looking at him. Jack shrugged and proceeded to also snuggle under the blankets. Youre just so adorable when youre trying to get comfortable. You make these little grunty noises and your cheeks go all red. Tobey rolled onto his side and propped himself up on an elbow as he studied Jack. Thats not the only thing that makes me make noises and go all red. He commented, watching Jacks reaction. Jack blushed and bowed his head. Tobey just grinned. You know, any time I mention something even remotely sexual you blush. You look so innocent. Jack jerked his head up as Tobey brushed a hand against his cheek, his breathing getting faster. Tobey noticed Jacks reaction and responded by withdrawing his hand and pulling another blanket around himself. Tobey, Im sorry. I just, I mean, I Jack trailed off, not quite sure how to put into words the jumble of emotions he was feeling. Tobey made him feel like nobody else ever had. Just looking at him made him feel warm inside, talking to him the world seemed to fade away. Although theyd been together for several months theyd only shared four kisses, not counting the one on the prom boat. Oh sure, there was the holding hands and the playful wrestling, but so far physical contact had been limited. Jack was sure Tobey was holding back because he wasnt sure what his reception would be should he try to initiate something more. In a way he was grateful, but he also felt slightly embarrassed that he had to be the one to make the first move just so Tobey would know that he was ready for more. Jack wasnt sure just how much more he was ready for, but already he felt as though he wanted to be surrounded by Tobey, to drown in him. Taking a deep breath he edged himself closer to the boy lying by his side. After withdrawing his hand from Jacks face, Tobey lay on his back with his hands beneath his head, staring at the shadows on the roof made by the fire. He struggled to control his breathing as he lay there, mere inches from Jack, yet quite unable to do anything he desperately wanted to do. Damn it, he thought to himself. Im supposed to be the experienced one here. So how come I cant think of any way to make him more comfortable? He closed his eyes and allowed his imagination free reign over his thoughts. Tobey didnt just enjoy Jacks company - he wanted him. Wanted him with every fibre of his being. He wanted to touch and be touched, he wanted to explore Jacks athletic body and commit every part of it to memory, he wanted to Tobey was startled out of his reverie by the realisation that Jack was no longer lying under the same blanket as he was, but he had inched himself over so he was lying right beside him. Tobey fought for control as he opened his eyes and looked at Jack, cuddled up against him. Wh wh I Tobey stammered, trying to think of something to say to explain this remarkable turn of events. Ssssssh. Jack whispered, pressing a forefinger against Tobeys lips. Just let me do this. Tobey stared in amazement as Jack trailed his fingertips over his face. He held himself absolutely still; hardly daring to breathe as Jacks fingers continued their exploration of his face and neck. As a thumb gently brushed over his lips he kissed it gently and turned his head to stare into Jacks eyes. Both were breathing quickly, and Jacks face showed gentle interest in Tobeys reactions to his light brushing. Unable to stand his self-imposed inaction any longer, Tobey reached out and hooked his hand behind Jacks head, slowly pulling their lips together. He stopped just before Jacks lips touched his and savored the feeling of anticipation. It was Jack who bought their lips together. The kiss began slowly, delicately, but began to intensify as the lovers gave in to desire. Tongues danced for the first time, and Tobeys hands ran up and down Jacks back as Jacks fingers laced in Tobeys hair. Tobey began trailing kisses down Jacks neck, stopping at the neck of Jacks t-shirt as he looked up at Jack as if to ask permission. Without breaking their gaze Jack let go of Tobeys face and slowly and deliberately pulled the shirt off. Tobeys breath came out in a shuddering sigh as he savored the sight of Jacks half-naked form - he was perfect. Before he could reach out and touch the smooth chest with its taut muscles Jack reached over and tugged at Tobeys shirt. Raising himself slightly Tobey allowed Jack to pull his shirt off. They sat in silence for a moment, transfixed by the sight of each other, hearts pounding, chests heaving as they stared. Jack reached out tentatively and ran his hand from Tobeys cheek, along his neck and shoulder, down his side to his hip and, finally, across his stomach and chest. The touch acted like a spark as two bodies began to intertwine. Hands and lips roamed freely across the bare upper bodies, the only sound to be heard apart from the crackling of the fire was the heavy breathing and gentle groans from the two lovers as they gave in to the desire that had been burning for so long. As he felt Jacks hands suddenly slide lower on his body Tobey suddenly became aware of himself and what was happening. Easing up on his frantic exploration of Jacks body he returned his kisses to Jacks face and mouth and began to slow down. Whats wrong? panted Jack between kisses. Tobey slid a hand over Jacks chest and sighed happily. Nothing. Its just, well Its not important. Jack covered Tobeys hand with his own and with the other took his lover gently by the chin and turned Tobeys face so he was looking right at Jack. You stopped all of a sudden. Said Jack seriously, looking Tobey in the eyes. Now dont tell me nothings wrong, because I know youve been wanting this to happen for as long as I have, longer probably. Tobey sighed. Youre right. He admitted. But you have to believe me, this has nothing to do with you. Its just that, well, Im supposed to be the experienced one here, but this is about the full extent of my experience - what were doing here. And, as much as I want to, Im really scared about anything more happening, especially now because I want this night to be perfect and I want to have something special to remember. Not that doing that wouldnt be special, but I just Tobey trailed off as Jack laid a finger across his lips and gave him a gentle smile. I dont care how much experience you have or havent had, and I dont mind doing nothing more than this. This is all totally new to me, and Im just enjoying the fact that Im sharing my night with you. So I dont want to hear another excuse or apology about what youre not ready for yet - this is good for me and I think we should continue. With that said Jack proceeded to kiss Tobey thoroughly. As their lips parted, Tobeys eyes still looked troubled. Are you sure - he began but was cut off as Jack kissed him again. But what - he tried again, with similar results. Finally he decided just to relax and indulge in the pleasure of exploring and being explored. Morning found the two bodies intertwined, in front of the glowing embers of the fire. Tobey was the first to wake and he smiled to himself as he looked at Jacks flushed face and wild hair resting on his chest. Running a hand contentedly across Jacks chest and settling it on his hip he sighed and stared at the wall. I leave this afternoon, he thought sadly. Whats going to happen? They both knew they would stay together, but a long distance relationship would be a strain on their concentration. For what seemed like the millionth time Tobey thought of the package hidden under his mattress. His parents would kill him, but what could they do? It was his life and he could live it how he wanted - theyd probably be happy just to get him out of the house. Tobey furrowed his brow and carefully weighed up his options. That does it, he announced to himself. I dont care what they say - Im going to do it. With this thought complete his attention shifted to Jack who was beginning to wake up. Morning! he grinned. Oh yes, this was all going to work out perfectly. To be continued... |
