Absences will be defined along the same lines as those for tehschool in general. See the school handbook for definitions of a "Lawful" vs. and "Unlawful" absence.
II.) Early Release from Practice
Early release will be defined the same way as an absence. Leaving at ANY time befoe the end of a practice OR a meet qualifies as and early release. Any 2 early releases count as an absence.
III.) ABSENCE PROCEDURES
1.) Absent from School - (ENTIRE DAY)
Bring yellow slip to Coach Dennis, Coach Jystad or Coach Walls
ON THE DAY THAT YOU RETURN TO SCHOOL.
2.) Absent from School - (PARTIAL DAY that includes practice)
Bring yellow slip to Coach Dennis, Coach Jystad or Coach Walls
ON THE DAY THAT YOU RETURN TO SCHOOL.
3.) Absent from Practice or Early Leave
Written notification to Coach Dennis, Coach Jystad or Coach Walls detailing
WHY you must miss practice. STRICTLY VERBALL COMMUNICATION
WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED SUFFICIENT NOTIFICATION. "Lawful"
or "Unlawful" will be determined upon review of the circumstances
surrounding the absence.
IV) Consequences
These differ according to the type of absence and at what pint during the season they occur.
PRE-SEASON COMPETITION SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP SEASONE
(2-16 --> 3-12) (3-15 --> 4-23) (4-16 --> 5-15)
2 Unlawful = 1 Meet 1 Lawful --> 1 Meet Coach's Decision
1 Unlawful = 1 Meet 1 Unlawful --> Coach's Dec.
**Any extended absence (more than one day in a row) will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis
**Any failure to follow procedure for any absence or early leave may result in the absence or early leave being classified as unlawful
**After 3 absences, the athlete and coaching staff will meet to identify lettering implications.
**After 2 "Unlawful" absences, the athlete and coaching staff will meet to determine the causes and further status on the team.
