Coach Nelson is married to former Greer High Student, Loan Vaughan. They have four children, Kayla ('90), Storm ("93), Taz (2001) and Bear (2003).
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my first three years of coaching. It's like I told the wrestlers this year, 'If you can handle one full season of wrestling, you can do anything in life because wrestling requires so much discipline and self control.' I believe wrestling is the toughest sport in high school."
