The  JACKDANIELites List

Welcome Friend...

Are you a fan of the fiction written about Colonel Jack O'Neill and Doctor Daniel Jackson of Stargate SG-1?  Then you, my friend, are probably a JACKDANIELite.  

A few years back I stuck on the bottom of my sig line that I was a JACKDANIEL's girl, which developed into "Getting drunk on JackDaniels".  The name stuck and while a list was formed using this name, it was not created by me. Since then I have maintained that I'm a JackDaniel's girl and I will always be one... and I figured, well, I can't keep using their name, now can I? So I decided that I was a JACKDANIELite instead. Or in abbreviation - a JDlite (when said properly is a J-Delight :)  Kinda fitting, eh?

Now we JACKDANIELites are interested only in the onscreen - or what we see onscreen - relationship between our favorite men.  This is not the list to discuss stuff said by the Production Team etc etc as that is available elsewhere and to keep this list unique and in the line of other sister-lists like DANIELites - this list is purely for the fantasy realm of Stargate - not the reality realm.   So I guess that's one of the rules for the list - please do not discuss any 'real life' issues with this list.  If you want a list that discusses this in the detail I recommend the JackDaniels list over at Squidge.org  (sorry I don't know the direct link but it's there and run by two of my friends, Rae and Sandi.)

We will discuss other pairings but not ad infinitum as this is primarily a list for JACK and DANIEL, but man cannot live by bread alone so we must introduce side-dishes from time to time. There's currently a great Slash list out there called Gateway that allows ALL pairings so I recommend that one to you too, my friend.   Any other pairing, of course, that involves either Jack or Daniel is thoroughly acceptable on this list though.  This is a list about them together or other slash pairings for them.

There will be no Archive for this list, but you are free to add your stories. poems, artwork to the SHARED FILES which will only be available to List Members.

Another thing that JACKDANIELites are really interested in is the intricacies of their relationship. How can people NOT see that Jack is oh-so wrong for Sam Carter because 1) he belongs to Daniel and  2) she belongs to Janet (though, that's a matter for another list ;-D). How can anyone view this show and not see the little looks between these two men, the care that they share, the fact that they squabble like a god-damn married couple as it is!!!!  Are they are two men who are suppressing their true feelings for each other out of respect for their employment situation????  Or maybe another reason is that Daniel knows that Jack's ass would be on the line if the Military found their Colonel in an intimate relationship with it's Archaeologist-in- Status - and Daniel being Daniel would like to look out for Jack's ass as much as he possibly could!!! Who wouldn't???  Or maybe you think that there's nothing suppressed about their relationship and that - like all off-duty activity with this lot - we don't see it anyway but it's already happening..?   Or maybe you think......  Join this list, my friend, and tell us what it is you think is the true relationship between the men.  

To also keep this list unique we ask that no PWP? (Plot, what Plot?) be posted here.  Our boys deserve more than a story that you can do a Find/Replace on and insert any other slash couple and still be able to read it.  There is such depth to their characterizations and such richness to their  mannerisms and just so much uniqueness to their  relationship  that it should be near impossible to do Jack and Daniel justice by a PWP? really.   Besides, PWP? are available on other lists and while there is a place for it in the Slash realm - they can be really fun and satisfying -  this list will be more tailored for the longer, more detailed stories involving our two favourite men.
