There is no generally accepted treatment regimen.

1.Education and reassurance that the disorder is not life-threatening nor imaginary.

2.Pharmacotherapy

•Amitryptyline and cyclobenzaprine

•SSRI’s

•Alprazolam with ibuprofen/NSAID

•Corticosteroids
