& Depression tend to amplify pain perception.
nAlprazolam with ibuprofen produced significantly reduced pain and symptoms compared to placebo.
nSAMe (a drug with antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic effects) has been shown to be superior to placebo.
nSSRI’s – are used because serotonin deficiency has been demonstrated in fibromyalgia patients. However, studies have shown that although improving depression and fatigue they are not superior to placebos.
